It was a top-notch, well-made game that had a lot of good potential. And pretty much everyone who was following is speculating what the fuck happened lol.

Ok so I admit I can be the manic guy who reads the last page of the book before I'm done to see what happens. I picked this title up and I'm enjoying it very much so I'm trying to avoid that. However, since I know it's abandon I need to ask a question before I go any further.
Does Olivia receive at least some payback for her extremely overblown vibe of bitchiness before the dev stopped making updates? If not I'm just gonna blast through this if so I'm gonna take my time. Any hint in that area would be most appreciated.

Absolutely not. Just rip through it because it ends on a bunch of cliffhangers that suck.
I always had a feeling this would end up abandoned, but damn it still sucks to see.
oh man i just suddenly remembered this game but forgot the title and searched for it using the "school setting" tag. sad its abandoned now.

Hopefully it would be back someday soon or dev allows another dev continue the game.

If he intended to abandon the game for good, he would release the files and models. A few pages back, I posted the DM where he directly said so to me.
i former backer on patreon, i believe he intended to put it on steam or gog. which i understand requires certain legal stuff. i could be wrong

well that could be what he said...i recalling a threadf on paatreon page from over 1 and half ago if not longer. been awhile.

Yeah... I have been dreading to learn one day Pale Carnation is going to stop because they can't move it to steam. If PC stops, I may take a long walk off a short pier.

He's never intended to put the game on Steam, since Illusion games can't be sold there (and he's known that for at least three-plus years; we chatted about Steam games at least as early as 2022).
You are likely remembering one of the many times someone else asked him why he doesn't put it on Steam.

Same tbh, but as long as they keep getting support from Patreon we should be safe, if anything I'm sad more people won't discover the game because it can't be on steam, such a shame so many people are losing out on peak.
I don't understand why Illusion doesn't ask for a percentage from the developers using their "graphics engine" in order to allow sales on platforms like Steam or GOG.

Well Illusion hasn't been around for a while but still due to copyright you can't use the assets for commercial purposes.
