I get that, I have been active on the internet for the past 20+ years, however, I haven't noticed the amount of troglodytes that are coming out the woodwork to this magnitude here. Usually I see pretty calm and thoughtful comments on most of the threads I check in on. I also realize that the game is listed on an adult forum and many people come here when their judgement is hormonally compromised. and yeah, this game is pretty vanilla. i'm pretty vanilla and tend to go the romance route with my writing apparently. i like character development over pointless sex stuff.
you're definitely not the first person i've heard say that. when i've talked about my past roommate and told that story before, there's always someone that echoes it and says they had a similar experience with another person. for the most part, the community around this game has been pretty chill and respectful. this forum isn't as active as it used to be because a lot of people have moved over to the discord or the patreon over the years. i do still have some people that pop on here and leave a review or something because i post it as an official link but this is also predominantly a hetero site so while i originally launched the game from here, it's never been the largest part of the traffic. And yeah, while there's been some weird comments over here more recently, the positive stuff far outweighs it on other sites. I dont really personalize much of the angry or weird shit anyway. i can't take those people seriously.

Yeah, I have been following most of the stuff posted about your game to this point from the community. I didn't know you originally launched it from here, thought you did it from Itch. I followed this game originally from Itch and have kept a close eye so far. I have definitely noticed that gay games don't get the support here, despite how much I prefer this site over sites like Itch. I'm still wanting to make my own gay VN, which I don't know if you remember me bringing it up. My story is both written out in a book format, which I am a few chapters in, and I'm trying to learn DAZ and Renpy to write it in that as well. I have seen most of the love and support you get, as well as giving it to you as well. I even follow Blake's stuff still, and really wish he would continue on his story with the ghost type character he wrote. I forget the actual name of that game lol. Though New Hope is really good too, despite the long pauses he takes. I'll have to hop on to the Discord though.

That's weird. It's pretty much my experience here on every Gay focused thread. Tho it usually happens when the game gets a "update push up (to the front)".
Never had I see one that's "pretty calm" - unless it's dead.
Also, "community-wise" I don't know a larger one that includes as many games. (Except Japanese / Chinese I'm pretty sure they have some big ones. Kinda weird since you'd thought LGBTQIA+ should be more accepted in the west.)
Unless you are talking about a specific game, then it'll be discord - there are also some big circles for furry ones, and I think Rafster is from a big one for ... real porn based?
Itch...definitely not build around the idea of "community interaction".

Thinking back on the feedback to gay threads, you may be right on here. Which is sad to be honest. Honestly, I wasn't even considering Japanese/Chinese games in the conversation as I usually don't play those. They kinda tend to go towards the typical what I want to call kinda like a boymance or boylove type of feel. Where I prefer my men to actually be more masculine and I definitely have felt like we have moved more towards that point in the west than those types of stories tend to tell. I don't have interest at all in Furry/Monster/etc content. It just feels weird to me, despite Mass Effect being my favorite video game series of all time. Though I feel like there's a big jump from dog/fox/reptile/whatever content and aliens. Yeah, I agree with Itch. It definitely doesn't feel as user friendly as this site does for me.

Sure, "YAOI" (what you referred as boymance / boylove) is quite popular there.
But "Bara" is also phenomenal (exaggeration on masculinity). Some artist (like Gengoroh Tagame) and game studio (like Underground Campaign) is often referred as Pioneer and well-known even among mainstream.
And there are also normal (people) looking gays like this game.
(Funny "YAOI" / boylove and "Bara" are all originated from Japan and initially meant the same. But now we use them for totally different things - and we don't have better words for them)
