I had another renpy game running, solsuite, tons of firefox windows/tabs
plus whatever windows was using....and all that together was nowhere near
what ST was using...and that was w ST minimized

When I closed ST, my computer power use went down 10 watts lol

I just checked it and it's not crazy.
CPU during gameplay: 2.5%-5.5%
CPU at main menu or preference screen: 0.5%-0.6%
Mem: 550MB-570MB

System is i9-12900K, 64GB RAM, Arc A770

I checked 5 other Renpy games and found that pure visual novels use near 0% CPU, but sandbox games were in the 1%-2% range. Most other games were around 500MB memory usage, but one was in the 1.5GB range.

I'm guessing Straitened Times uses a polling loop of some kind in the sandbox user interface.

Edit: Updated to 0.50.0

Just a heads up, I checked the 0.50.0 incest patch using Unren. Based on what I see, I didn't see anything that shows it wouldn't work with 0.51.0 of the game.

I am by no means a pro at patches or modding Ren'Py, and I don't want to step on mugizib 's toes, so I am not putting out an "updated" patch, so use at your own risk.

There is a RNG in game plus a lot of hidden variables. A WT mod would worthless.

You don't need to configure them. Energy is always max, and money is always set to 50,000. The mod also edits the sleep code so that you always sleep to the time you set.
