Wait until you see them fighting. If your opinion with Mr. Holkar is high enough (think its 40), then you'll see the conversation about getting her another job and be given the quest to talk to the principal about it. If your opinion and allure is high enough with the Principal (60,20 respectively), you'll be able to ask her to hire Mrs. Holkar. Then you talk to Mr. Holkar again.
The desk: The day has to be beyond 20 and you can't have attended the morning class yet. If your allure is higher than 25, the scene is automatic. Once the cardboard is in place, talk to the teacher, send her out of the room and then click the box.
