Due to off-topic reasons, VPNs are now being targeted. That's why he said that he can't even use one since F95 is banned there.
If he is really from Russia, then I don't know which part he is from. For me, f95 works perfectly without a VPN. Maybe it hasn't reached my region yet, but VPNs also work.

To be honest, he tells some strange things that have no relation to reality. Maybe he was having a bad day and was just tired due to the difficulties with withdrawals. But neither Subscribe Star nor even F95 are blocked.

I wonder which country does he live in? only China, Turkmenistan, North Korea, and Iran are the ones that block adult websites while also prohibiting their citizens to use VPN. I don't think he lives in Russia though, because they're allowed their people to use VPN. Most crackers are also coming from that region.

- "I have personal issues that don't allow me to spend time on games development as I did before." This part of the statement makes sense to me.

- "right now this site is banned in my region, and I'm sitting here under a VPN. And they hunt down VPNs very efficiently." This part of the statement makes no sense to me as a reason to stop making the game. You can continue making the game and then see how to deliver the progress made and monetize it.
well that might be much harder than people might actually think.. this dev might be very knowledgeable about his current situation OR doesn't know enough and is afraid to be thrown in jail (who knows what country he is from or what laws he has to follow)

VPNs do work and even if the ISPs does actively block the VPN there is always a work around BUT if your country has laws against using VPNs it could end up you looking at time behind bars.. the other and more important matter is the financial side of things and data collection, funny enough VPNs was originally marketed for people who want to have an extra layer of online protection when shopping online or doing any type money transaction it was also there for people to avoid data collection... now not only will the bank tell any government about your financial history but they will also collect your data and purchasing history and sell it on the open market to data brokers like its the most normal thing so in this case the use of a VPN doesn't really matter...

so as sad as i am saying this the dev best option might actually be to do nothing, maybe they can encrypt their drives and continue to work on the game in their free time and when their government relax the laws or goes after something else (which always happens to all governments) the dev can upload the content and collect some crypto...

btw most governments that do ban VPNs also tend to ban crypto, and even tho it does seem like the banks support crypto they DON'T... if master card, visa, paypal etc etc has all banned adult site payments (like to PornHub) then its only a matter of time till they ban all crypto purchases... they already do this to some extent like some of them block you buying crypto from private buyers and trying to turn crypto into actual money has gotten more difficult as they require to to inform them where it come from and the reason etc etc... some countries already have a trade ban on crypto (you can buy and sell it but if you use it to do trade of any kind then its straight to jail or they take everything)

so the dev might have looked at all of this and made their decision

It's a repeat notice to everyone that I have currently stopped the development for an indefinite period.
I have personal issues that don't allow me to spend time on games development as I did before.
Plus, right now this site is banned in my region, and I'm sitting here under a VPN. And they hunt down VPNs very efficiently.
So, I postpone the development until further notice.
I would like to note that I am located in the same region and I have no problems accessing any site. Moreover, I use exclusively free tools. No, blocking is just an excuse that hides the developer's unwillingness to continue his work.
UPD: After reading a number of comments above, I would like to note that using a VPN or other blocking circumvention methods is not a crime here. What is prohibited is advertising VPN services, nothing more. I repeat, I am more than sure that this is an excuse, an unwillingness to continue working on the game.
Yes, he is from Russia, and F95 isn't banned here.

I've had so much fun with this game, it doesn't need much more "ending" to satisfy me. But if Mrs Holkar slips from my grip at the last minute.... damn. That will be sad.

Are you willingly ignoring his "I have personal issues that don't allow me to spend time on games development as I did before." line?

The part about the site (most likely where he posts, not F95, why would he care about F95 being blocked in his dev cycle?) is behind a "plus..." So that reason is just extra.

Jeez. The dude has been delivering constant update for years, made a really great game, that has actual endings, and now that he decides to take a break you all shit on him.

Go touch some grass you mad gooners.

I think he is talking about Subscribstar being banned and he needs a VPN to access it.
