I've always thought what
Wildman Dev does well is stay in control of the readers state of mind, usually at the cost of going over things a few times but the result is a precision that is crucial in this update.
First we're treated to probably the most fun day so far. Lots of action, relationships are growing, boundaries being pushed and a few clues are fed in. Then, as usual, we get the more plot heavy stuff later on and when it arrives it packs a heavier punch than we've seen previously from SiS with a few hurtful jabs to the body and a big smack in the face.
Here's where the skill comes in. We're taken to a darker, more dramatic place but don't end up in a mood that feels wrong for the tone of the game. We're often walking a tightrope where a missed step could ruin the whole experience but it's dealt with perfectly, while the groundwork was laid here and in previous updates for potential solutions that offer hope and feel right.
