I am currently on the Mirror/ Mirror chapter and noticed the distinctive visual character changes.
A couple looked super young to begin with like Candy and Torr, but now they look 5 years younger.
Not just those, but Gabrielle looked like an early 20s adult, now she has the same body type but her face also looks or is trying to look mighty young.
Is the Loli appearance a choice that fans voted on or something?
Its just confusing being immersed in the story, to have a shock the next chapter.
I just noticed that this is abandoned, does anyone have a factual reason why:?

I think it was a mix of family issues, career issues, and the fact his games leaked immediately and without the high sub count to justify continuing.

Had this game on to play list for a long time but never got around to it as I like to wait for completed games. With how much love it seems to have had should I bite the bullet and play through even though its abandoned or will I be heartbroken by a cliffhanger that will never be resolved?

the fact is that a game with a relatively small following leaking that quickly was indeed the issue.
No. The "issue" is that all these Honey Select games are being "sold' illegally, so they have absolutely no protection and no actual store like Steam or gog will touch them with 10 foot pole.
Also, people who leak these games shouldn't be called pirates, because officially these games are public domain fan fiction. You cannot pirate something that cannot be copyrighted. Simple as that.

Most of people that make these kind of games are doing it as a hobby. That it's why most of them remaining unfinished, people get bored and just start doing other things.
you are so naive...

most of these games are made by profesional teams
they make several, even a dozen or so games at once, extracting money on patronite pretending to be solo projects
after some time the least profitable ones are abandoned

That Argument does Not hold up in real life. Look at how long some vns take Update tp Update while being good and profitable (to Name one, artemis) most games here are under 5 ppl but yea put your tinfoil hat back on.

Most of the shit games are the products of farming groups looking to rake in cash, most likely for nefarious purposes. Quality games are not worth their effort, as that time would be best spent making more games. Whether it's on itch, steam, or gog, you see these shit games all over the place, usually at a cheap price. They never or rarely update, and last less than an hour to playthrough. That's the kind of crap that dev farms put out.

Don't get me wrong, there are also lots of crap games put out by artists who's skills or talents are not up to what making a great game needs, maybe they'll get better, maybe not. I'm not going to shit on people trying to chase their artistic dream.

This game had the potential to be great. I'm sad it wasn't able to be completed.

Lol I got to witness a new "upgrade" or style choice, where the girls are sticking out their tongues, making them look retarded.
Ah there it is, Asiago (heh heh) an actual choice in Japanese culture to have the girls stick out their tongues and cross their eyes, again making them look mentally handicapped.
I naturally can understand that during and after being taken to Poundtown, maybe even remembering the last time they took a trip or two on the Laytrain, but here its before a shower, during dinner, dreaming lol.

I’m pained by the news of Stray Incubus’ end and Flynn974 ’s departure. After reading his post on Discord, I can only understand and feel compassion for the personal reasons that seem to be quite challenging.

I hope he will be able to recover from this, cheer up again, and move towards brighter horizons in his personal life. Of course, it’s sad that everything comes to an end this way, but in the face of such personal struggles, all we can offer is understanding and support.

I wish that when the time is right, once things have calmed down for him and he’s found some personal stability, he’ll be able to return and update us, reassuring us about his situation. Until then, I wish him lots of strength and courage to overcome this difficult time. My best wishes for happiness go to him and his loved ones.

I had only few conversations with him, but he always seemed nice, attentive, open to suggestions, and had a great sense of humor. It’s a shame that he’s stepping away from an AVN that was overall fun and enjoyable. He had made real progress in the technical execution of his game.

The storyline was easy to follow and enjoyable, although it wasn’t without its flaws, sometimes marked by writing missteps, clichés, or oddities typical of certain anime, from which he seemed to have drawn some inspiration. That said, it was a very positive and great experience, one that I will hold a genuine fondness for.

I’m not sure if the game will find someone to take over, if anyone will feel up to the challenge, or even if anyone will be willing to doing so. It’s always sorrowful when something we’ve grown attached to over time comes to an abrupt halt, but that’s how life goes, and we have to focus on the good moments for move on.

A big thank you to Flynn for all the hard work, energy, and passion dedicated to this visual novel, as well as for all the fun, joy, and excitement we shared because of him. I wish him strength and the best for whatever comes next.

that's exactly the point

if the game isn't profitable, they abandon it
if the game is profitable, they extend the money-drawing process as much as possible, after all, you pay every month, regardless of whether there was an update or not

and as you can see, there are plenty of ways or excuses to extend the time between updates
a new job, family problems, computer problems, illness, to name just a few, and every month a transfer from patronite comes
