I share this sentiment, I assumed people coming up with the theories all already saw this and didn't believe it, but I'd like to be optimistic that there's no reason for Flynn to lie when he seemed like a decent dev in the few posts I've seen of him here, and he seems to be an acquaintance of other respected devs.

Ultimately, I didn't know him personally either, but he seemed like a pretty decent person based on his posts here in the thread and our private message exchanges.

I can't stop people from debating, nor do I wish to, just as I can't stop them from coming up with various theories, even the most outlandish ones, if it suits them. However, I do hope they do so with all the facts available to them, and we can always hope for some intellectual honesty and decency.

Anyway, all this fuss will eventually calm down. What I'm more curious about is what’s next for Stray Incubus—will it really be the end, or will someone else take over and keep going with the work Flynn started, like passing the torch ?

And even if, unfortunately, the project really does end for good, I'll still have good memories of this game and can always come back for a few sessions whenever I want. I’d rather focus on the positive side of this experience, even though it’s a bit sad. Otherwise, there are plenty of other AVNs to discover and enjoy !

actually I play adult games because of thir stories as well as love stories,not for those adult scene...I really loved this gamethe dev could make a short end(though maybe i don't have the right to say that as i didn't purchase the game )...whatever really wanting for comeback...btw,can u suggest some games like this which are compleed or at least on going not abandoned?

Seeing all the silly theories about why the game stopped and people arguing in the thread trying to prove they're right, I’ll just share the last message Flynn974 posted on his Discord server. You can check it out in the 'flynns-final-message' section at the top left of the channel tabs.
I think arguing over those reasons, or trying to prove that one person or another is right, is pretty childish and unhelpful. Spreading rumors and false claims doesn’t get us anywhere either.

Flynn974 clearly explained in his message the serious and important reasons behind the halt of production on his AVN and why he stepped back from this activity. I have no reason to question what he said, and even if I did, it wouldn't change the current situation.
I’m sharing this message with you all, sorry if it’s already been shared, so everyone can check it out freely and maybe get convinced or at least learn about the reasons Flynn gave.

Also, I’d like to add that the dev was respectful and transparent with his community of backers by explaining why he’s stepping away. He could’ve easily chosen not to say anything, stopped communicating with his supporters, and kept taking money from them while leaving his accounts active on the platforms where Stray Incubus was hosted.
To me, that doesn’t really give anyone a valid reason to go after him or question his integrity. That’s just my opinion on the matter, though.

I'll leave it up to you to form your own opinion with all the facts, in case you haven’t read this message left by the developer.

This is so sad, the game was amazing with huge potential. It hurts the most when actually well crafted stories got abandoned, this one being one of them... I'm also someone who plays AVNs for their stories, not the lewds, and fantasy being my fav genrem its just sad...

I wish Flynn974 and his family all the best and maybe a come back in the future.

And kudos for being transparant and deleting his accounts for not being able to continue on the game! We have seen way too many devs just vanish without a word, but their pages still actively taking money.

This game was on my favorites list. Really sad to see it go. Maybe a competent team can take it over? Even then it might not be the same. I'll check back now and then in hopes it gets continued. Too bad.

I totally agree with you, because I also prioritize the story and narration above everything else, way more than the visuals or lewd scenes. For me, it's important that a visual novel is at least strong in what defines its genre, the writing and storytelling, even though the graphics matter too, of course, in the end.

It’s really sad that this AVN is disappearing like this before it could give us a proper conclusion and clear up some of the mysteries. I don’t want to be too pessimistic, but a lot of games in this sector end up failing or getting canceled by their devs because the industry is tough and not very profitable for many.

No creator is immune to the ups and downs of real life either. Flynn has been pretty honest in how he’s handling his exit, and that’s something to give him credit for. A lot of creators have disappeared without saying anything, and some didn’t even bother to close their social accounts or stop charging their donors (a really disgraceful attitude). So, props to him for showing that there are still some honorable people around.

Once again, I wish the dev and his family the best of luck, hoping their situation gets better soon. I also hope he’ll drop by here to give us some news. And if someone talented has his approval and the skills to take over the project, good luck to them.

If Dev knew he was going to abandon the game anyways without any plans to continue,
Then why not just stick a makeshift ending at the end of this update and provide the players and supporters base with some satisfying ending...
Dev already had everything perfectly set up for that ending,
Veronica does her job and hold Mercury in place and
MC kills Athena or captures her and keeps her as a breedable slave as they fall in love,
Since she dies or gets captured, all under her command breaks away and go do there own things
or we can show MC clearing up Axius and free Irena in a few renders,
With only a few girls left to bred,
MC takes everyone back to ninja village and breed all the remaining girls,
Adding a few short sex scenes almost like montage,
And end everything up with another montage of pictures of MC with his kids from each of his girls,
Living happily ever after with like 50 wives and 500kids,
Leaving an opening showing some other villain behind the scenes as they cut away.
Could have been done with a few 100 renders and closed the chapter instead of leaving the fans hanging forever,
Anyways Thats how this game ends for me.

I don't know what the family situation is but I wish Flynn all the best with it.

Having seen quite a few games get abandoned, I do wish that more devs would set quicker and clearer end goals to their avns like 10 to 15 chapters. Also carefully consider and prepare financially and otherwise how to be a developer for the long term. As an outsider, observing it's a looongg process that takes years, effort and doesn't guarantee riches.

That's a general comment, its not specifically about Flynn. All the best to him with his new career.
