My bad, I meant employee: I go on a date with my bartender in the morning and have sex, in the evening she has 70+ energy; or, she has 0 energy but doesn't ask for a break.
Depending on who scheduled the date, it is possible to still have the "morning" period free after the date and then use it as a full night's sleep. It's not ideal and I've been trying to figure a way to fix it, but it's likely what you are seeing. The easiest place to see is if you have your own apartment and when the landlady comes asking for sex, you can still sleep afterwards and recover all your energy.

And yes, employees with 0 energy will still try to work however, they do a terrible job in that case, not being able to do everything they should be able to do. For example, a tired bartender will be able to serve fewer drinks than one that isn't. Which affects your revenue (less drinks sold) and satisfaction (customers that didn't get the drinks they wanted).
