I personally prefer power, being able to meet someone you like, enslave them ( or have your way with them) gives me more satisfaction than everything in conquest.
Both games are very different than one and another.
The first game is complete and has far more modding support. There's far less focus on the story characters, and more on doing your own thing with your own slaves. Combat is simpler but also more challenging as it's harder to make your characters 'overpowered'.

aric also made a mod for conquest but due to 0.11 changing so much stuff he had to take a break.
if you are importing saves then something is broken, new saves it always starts after two weeks after ACT2 starts.
they are both different games and can't really be compared, it's like if you asked if displaced played the same as strive for power even though it's the same dev.

Nope, i havent imported any saves. I just start a new game from act 1 and it's never triggered.
your character has to have the requirements for whatever class you want to put on them. For example I think blacksmith needs 25 wits in order to use it. others like witch or warlock, your character needs to be female or male with wits above 75. In the classes tab (picture of a wand the top left button when viewing character) there is a toggle that says "locked" which allows you to view classes your character currently doesn't meet the reqs for so you know what you are missing.
This is how my "class panel" looks like, unless im blind there's nothing to even though i've bought several classes and should have requirements fulfilled.
Well call me a Sally and all that, i just had to delete the roaming files for the game since they were from 2-3years back and for some reason screwed up the class window, now it WORKS!
This raises an interesting point though; you can currently turn down or lose ALL of the unique NPCs right now, but the story doesn't make any sense past ACT 1 if you do. I'm not sure how they'll justify the eventual ending if the player just tells everyone to shove off, doesn't give the sacred bowl away to get Zephra back, etc. Wonder if they'll just force an early bad ending on the player if they do the story 'wrong'.wait, people sold their lilia? even though everything hints that she was still needed even as nixx's champion?
