I understand that Kana needed to get comfortable with the MC. My problem is that she'd clearly passed that hurdle by the time she asked him for training; at that point she knew full well the MC wasn't the way he was described in the tabloids (though the amorphous nature of the MC is its own problem), yet she still had no immediate interest in boning him. I took that as an indication that she just wasn't interested in "no strings attached" sex and thus wanted to wait and see how things played out.
In the end, however, she abruptly reversed course and all but begged the MC for no strings attached sex as soon as he buys her that cat - and even with the added backstory from Part 6, that still makes no sense to me. Worse, we can't ask her about it in game; the two agree to revisit the issue later if you accept the offer, but the fundamental question of why Kana changed her mind so suddenly and what she wants out of a relationship is studiously avoided no matter what you pick.
Lastly, you say you can keep things friendly with Kana, but I don't think that's true in a practical sense. I had played the MC's interest as non-sexual as I could up to that point (without outright snubbing her), and yet in the event it still felt like I'd have been leading her on if I turned her down. Again, because when the moment arrived I had no idea what the hell was going on in her mind and no ability to clarify the situation.

To each their own, but there is a reasonable explanation for why men largely prefer women with low body counts. At the group level, both sexes are attracted to features in each other that indicate a good chance at reproductive success. For men this can be things like wide hips (for child birthing), while for women it can be things like access to cultural resources (which improve offspring's status). Meanwhile both are attracted to symmetrical features (signals good genetics/health). However, for men (once again, this is at the group level...I repeat, at the group level), there is a special consideration that does not exist for women, namely parental assurance. If being attracted to external indicators of low body count gives men even a small 1% better chance at having their genes move forward into the future, because they are more likely to be the fathers of those children, it means that the vast majority of men after a couple hundred generations (and the human race has been around for a lot longer than that) would be the products of those men's genes. That's just how evolution and statistics work.
So I understand why many players of this game are instinctively attracted to Vi and Amrit, since those two characters naturally display strong indicators of innocence and inexperience. Such men don't consciously decide who and what they like in the opposite sex, any more than their cavemen ancestors who didn't even have language do. And the most important point here is that not being attracted to someone isn't "bashing" or "looking down" on them. It's just being uninterested in them. And to that end, no woman deserves a man's attention, no matter how much some might try to gaslight you into believing otherwise (though truth be told, gaslighting is the nicest response I've gotten to turning a women down, but that's drifting too far off topic for this forum thread).
