As I download the "old version", and not feeling like going through about 25 pages of stuff since that's the last place the term "old saves" and the download files are found, just trying to see if I understand what's supposed to be going on with all of this...

After I have this pulled down and installed (since this has something added that the old "Pt.7" didn't), all I should have to do is open my old saves at the end of what was then called "Pt.7" when I completed it last August, then roll each to the end and there will be some kind of "conversion/preparation" element (the way they did in Sunshine Love, I assume), after which, when the "Pt.8" appears, however it happens to be named, I should be able to simply install it, and open my saves the way I always have (well, I'm guessing there will be some kind of step in there like the SL saves), and that should do it?

Really hate when all these changes get made mid game, and with all of the Devs jumping at Steam, now, this hobby is turning more into a chore for the old VNs I've been playing.

download old version, load up your desired save(s), click a few times and a save transfer option should pop up, do that, backup them or whatever, and you're done. When the new update drops it will be a new game or season whatever you want to call it, that's why you need a save transfer. Should be pretty straightforward.

That's what I thought. Can't believe I'm downloading more than 9Gb of files to do five to ten minutes of conversion. :rolleyes:

At least this wasn't one of my "Sancho" VNs and I don't have to go through that level of crap, too.

Hey, any word on Sancho? Last I heard there was a big storm in his area, and then nothing.
Based on where the major Texas storms were in June/July of 2024, and exactly when they were, I don't think it was a storm that was the problem.

A big straight-wind storm happened early in June last year that did some damage around Harris County (Houston) and a few other areas to our north, south, and west, but he was still in communication here afterwards. The next big thing was Hurricane Beryl, and it hit just west of the Houston area and moved to the north on July 8, about two weeks after we last heard from him. So if it was "storm" related, I'm not sure what storm since the majors straddled when he was last seen here. I got the impression he may have been in the Piney Woods area of Texas (East Texas, north of Houston, mostly East of I-45), but if he was actually more the Mexican border area, there was a storm that hit down that way June 19, but, again, he was communicating here a week after. Based on stuff he said, I got the impression he had connections and maybe occasionally worked on the border, but that he was actually living up towards the Piney Woods region.

So maybe something storm related happened to him, but it seems more likely that it was something else. Again, based on things he said over the years, I'm guessing the "1969" was his birth year, putting him mid-50s, so younger, but still in a range where health stuff can get serious, or maybe he was into some freaky shit and got vanned, had a bad accident, or just got tired of this place. I think if it was the last one, he might have said something on the way out, so I doubt it was that. Only way we'll really ever know is if he comes back at some point, or someone on the boards knows/knew him IRL. Beyond that, it's just wild speculation.

Check In 04/07/2025
New
Just now
Friends, Romans, Countryman lend me your ears... Tis time for a little check in. Just a little Els for you this week, nothing major just something I put together while I had a spare moment.
This past week was mostly an animation filled one. I mentioned last update that I was working on a new thing with the animation I was working on unfortunately I wasn't able to achieve the effect I desired. The effect was a really cool bit of physics, alas I just don't have the ability to make it function yet, perhaps in a future update I can give it another try. The problem is that a huge chunk of the planned block for this anim was predicated on this particular effect, so I had to return to the drawing board on the base blocking. I'm fairly happy with what I ended up with, but I admit I have a bit or sadness that the original vision didn't work out, can only keep moving forward though.
Going to be an extra busy few weeks here, tomorrow I'll be taking the day to finish up the last bit of Steam work I need to do of adding achievements, once I finish that up I'll be sending the final test build for Book One off to make sure it's all ready for release. Once I get the clear on that an official release date will be making it's way out. Once that testing is out of the way Part Eight testing will begin so a pretty full plate coming up.
That's about it from me today, I still have that anniversary post I'm going to sneak out later this week, but otherwise I'm back to work.
I hope you all have a wonderful week. Thank you as always for your support.
Sláinte!

Well now that I can get the autosave to work from far enough back, I get this error when I get to the end of the game just before being able to save for transfer.

I actually had the same problem. My solution was to install URM and open the console with Shift + O and the create the variable:

If you want her to know you are with others:

serenaknowsyouarebangingothers = True

If you don't want her to know:

serenaknowsyouarebangingothers = False

Alternative you can use URM create variable feature:

Funny thing is that variable is already in the script though which begs the question as to why it is not being picked up when compiling the export save.
