Hello everybody, Amrit and Ines here once again promoting international cooperation. Bless their hearts. I'm a bit grumpy with Amrit at the moment but hey I think I'm usually mad at at any character or any time so we move on. Anyway I'll have a whole other post to rant about that later. On to production progress, it's been a while so please excuse my ramble.
At the moment of writing renders and animations are fundamentally done. Like always there are batches of fixes that need to be done, but usually nothing complicated. At the current moment I do have a not insignificant group that needs to be redone , we're talking a few hundred and if you're paying attention you might deduce there's a reason I'm currently mad at Amrit. Jokes aside I was the one who made the fuck up so alas the blame lies at my feet. But it a bit of a time waster. If you've ever been in one of my art streams you've witnessed the sometimes glacial pace of opening Daz files. 5-10 min load times are not uncommon. then the time to fix and re save the file ect. So extrapolate that out and you can get an idea of how it can be a rather vexing endeavor. Fortunately for me the process is straightforward so I can work on other things while files load. Here's a quick list of what I need to finish up on my end.
Final coding: This is self explanatory
Tester cheat sheet: With Part 8 starting a whole separate file I want to make sure my testers know exactly what they do and don't need for their imported saves, so I'm writing a little cheat sheet for them. I'm hoping it helps expedite the testing process a bit. I admit I let the branches on this one get a bit away from me so I'm trying to make their lives easy as possible. Also considering bringing on another tester or two, depending on the current groups schedules are looking (They're very good so lots of devs like to snap them up.) We'll see on that.
Finishing up some UI elements: I'm mostly happy with this but I'm making some final tweaks, the ever kind Digi.b of Artemis fame is assisting me so if it ends up bad definitely blame him instead of me.
The above items plus the aforementioned fixs are the last bits of shit on my plate, then we can finally get this in your hands and out of my hair. I know I often repeat it but I greatly appreciate your patience with me this update cycle, I know it's been a long time coming, but you guys have really been a great community and I want to make this the best I can. I've said it before but with this being the start of "Book 2" I wanted to take the time to start myself off on the best foot possible so I'm not scrambling to fix a whole bunch of shit later down the line. Once this SOB is out I'm going to work extra hard to return to a much better and more consistent cycle for you guys.
Two final notes, First schedule providing I'll have a big post hopefully this weekend that will go a bit more into depth about the Amrit issue causing the rerenders. It's very technical and art process stuff so I didn't think this was the appropriate post for it. Normally I'd keep it restricted to Blue Belts, but since you guys have been so great to me I'll open it up to everybody.
Second and this one is important, as I've mentioned a few times and will continue to mention until release Part 8 starts with an entire new file so before the release you need to be sure you have a save file transfer ready to import. Either the Steam editions or the current pinned editions here on the page will allow the transfer so make sure you take the time to get that taken care of before. You've waited plenty already and if you don't have a transfer ready you will NOT be able to just start at Part 8. I know I've mentioned it many a time, but I'm going to keep mentioning it because I want to give everybody ample opportunity to have that taken care of.
Okay I'm done, talked plenty enough, hope you find yourselves well.
Thank you as always for the support and I hope you have a lovely and safe rest of your week.

Unbroken [Book 1 Steam] High FrameRate mode

This mod replaces the game’s native low FPS animations with 60 FPS animations.

Total animations/video rendered = 96

Note - Dev has a lot of videos rendered at higher fps than they actually are (check Comparison). To remedy this I have reworked almost all animation/video.

American and British armed forces often operate together during conflicts.
They do indeed. My Grandfather was in the British forces during WW2, and due to all the liason work between his unit and US forces, he emigrated at the end of the war. A certain nurse might have had something to do with that. ;)

But I thought Alistar was British since he uses some slang and he says he knows elspeth from childhood and she is obviously British
Dude, did you follow the story at all?
Els is Scottish old money(If I remember correctly), and her father and Allister's father served the crown together.
Valentine served in the US Rangers and they did some OP with the British army, that's how they know each other.

I was still on the first chapter. No need to get upset, maybe you should get some MM..FOOD to calm down.

Hey folks, was testing something out with Vi here, figured might as well share it for a bit of visual stimuli. Anyway gonna try and be brief here.

My big ole batch of Amrit related fixes is nearing completion, essentially one more big batch that I'm working to get knocked out by end of weekend, assuming everything cooperates.

Testers have their cheat sheets so they should be prepped up and ready to go.

Pleased with most of my UI changes, a few more small ones to tweak and that'll all be done.

Since this will be the first official release with an ost/audio been listening to more things than I'd like. But found a nice little cadre of artists making exactly what I was looking for.

That's all the technical stuff of note at the moment. A quick personal note a family member is having surgery this afternoon (nothing major but still a fairly large surgery) so I'll be assisting them at home for the next few days until they're back on their feet. Just a heads up if you try to reach me in the next few days that I might be a bit tardy on responses.

Final note, that big in depth post about the Amrit issue went from a fairly in depth post to a much larger vaguely concerning post. It sort of took on a life of it's own as I got angrier. What was once just a talk about a very specific program went off course and turned into a whole rant about technical limitations and artistic visions. Still going to release it, but I have to clean up some of the language, and also organise it a bit better so it doesn't read like a blog some lunatic wrote on a 2005 conspiracy board.

Time for our very tedious, but needed warning that Part 8 starts with an entire new file and you need to have a save file transfer ready to import. Either the Steam editions or the current pinned editions here on the page will allow the transfer, if you don't have a transfer ready you will NOT be able to just start at Part 8.

This was my attempt at brief and clearly I'm lacking both brevity and wit, The Bard weeps.

Thank you as always for the support and I hope you have a lovely and safe rest of your week.

Not going to lie, I scrolled past, then slowly back up to that picture of Vi multiple times while I read the post.
