New Part 7 Future Compatibility Versions

To save your transfer saves you have to hit the end of the game at which point the ability to save your game for the next version will appear.

You will need to use one of these links to ensure your saves transfer to Part 8 properly. These builds also contain the gallery and named saves that have long been requested. They will not contain the full soundtrack as well as a few surprises I cooked up for the Steam edition.


New Version:

This build is recommended for new players or those who want saves compatible with the Steam Version as well as Part 8. This build is on an entirely new executable and therefore won't see old saves from the previous versions. You can technically manually move saves between the versions but I can't guarantee compatibility on that. Starting over sucks, but it does guarantee the most smooth experience going forward.

Old Version:

This build is the final update to the previous Part Seven builds, recommended for players who just want to prep up their Part 8 saves. This build is made with the old executable so all saves will be there. It will transfer to Part 8 just like previous build so both versions will work for that. A small warning, I had to upgrade my Renpy edition to make the new code function and in testing there were some errors. I did my best to iron out the main ones, but a few could have snuck through. If the transfer save screen pops up as normal then you're totally fine and ready for Part 8 if it spits an error that means a variable snuck out somewhere.

you really don't need to, I downloaded the version with the old executable, loaded my last save, clicked a couple times and got the transfer save window, took less than a minute.

the dev released two updates today to the game (no new content) that is meant to prepare the game for the steam release and chapter 8. It looks like to be a "new" game, so save transfers are needed, and that's what the update is for. The version you linked doesn't have the save transfer option, these new ones do. One has a new executable which may or may not be compatible with past saves (haven't tried), so recommended for new playthroughs, and one has the old executable for existing saves (worked for me)

I haven't done it yet (have downloaded for later though), but from what Elduriel says, it's pretty straightforward. Usually, you'd see this at the end of an update, but I guess circumstances prevent that here. If it had the save transfer bit at the end of Pt7, you probably wouldn't have batted an eyelid.

Yeah, I'm probably going to wait for the Steam release before playing the new build. Not sure if it's worth downloading the Old Build to finish prepping for CH.8. I may just replay it over again in Steam. Really tough not choosing Els or Kana, no matter how many tries.

Well, glad it works. Waiting for compressed old version to try. When I see those terms "can't guarantee", "might not work" it usually means it's screwed, but glad that's not the case here.

don't tell me you're doing single LI playthroughs in this one Can be ok if you are inclined to do that sort of thing, but you can pretty much just go after everyone here in one save. You'll have the option to choose your favorite in the end. The dev did the same thing in his previous game. There are basically no "penalties" for pursuing all the LIs at once.
