I did the same lol. Funny this is the only VN I know of where my "best girl" at the start wound up being dead last as the chapters went on. And I didn't like Ines to start with but then she's now my favorite. Vi has consistently been one of my favorites, but Ines has topped her.

I just realize, what happened with the two girls who were looking up information on Valentine? I can’t recall seeing them after they appeared later on. Who even are they?

I think they were digging on behalf of Els, she was trying to find out some of the details of Valentine's service record
They are old army buddies of Els who apparently work private intelligence nowadays.
Els thinks Anastasia (was it?) is dead, and the other one isn't around. So I don't think they work for Els. They work for at least two parties interested in digging in Valentine's past. We can estimate one of those parties is the Crown, and the other one may be Els' father. They are the only ones with high clearence looking in Valentine, about which he was informed by his old blonde Icelandic buddy, who works for the CIA. Though even she doesn't know who they are yet, but only knows about that Valentine's past is being digged.

can't recall if one of them was Anastasia or not, been a while, but you could be right. I'm just basing my comment off of the conversation between Els and Vi where she told her she was digging about him behind his back too, was thinking she was referring to the intel girls.
Its implied its Anastasia, her hair was tied up in buns in the picture Els shows Valentine and then you see the same style on the woman looking in to him.

Imo harem routes are some of the laziest things.
I'm fine with having to chose as its how something with this theme the story is going for should be.
Not everyone should be dateable in a posse fashion. Nothing wrong with building love in other aspects of life.
Prob one reason why I appreciated SW Rebels.. they didn't force the cliche love story, was just people loving like family.
