Howdy all, a little Ines this week as she rapidly rockets up in popularity (anecdotally). Might have to do an official poll after Pt8, stopped doing them because seeing Els as the defacto winner was getting depressing. Like watching a dominant champ when they start having to beat the rank 10 guys in the division.
So this week I made the choice to attempt a proper fluid simulation. AKA a functioning "money shot" This did not work out. The level of skill required to make it look even close to somewhat realistic is far beyond my ability and in the end it just looked like our pal Valentine was shooting white marbles that just oozed everywhere before crashing my file. Might be great for a horror animation one day, but at the moment it's going deep in the nope vault. Last update I chatted a bit about the hair physics work I was doing with Katie Kafton™, I mostly got it figured out, though it doesn't quite give the effect I want it's good enough for government work as they say. After this update I might take a look at feasibility of custom strand based hair, but that's a pipe dream and even if it's possible is very much an after the update is out problem. That pretty much covers any new things I wanted to try and play with this update, so now it's just the joy of actually animating things, which is slightly less likely to crash everything.
Anyway that about covers anything interesting in the process at the current moment. This Saturday the 10th at 2pm Pacific/ 5pm Eastern, I'll be having an animation stream that's open to everybody who wants to drop by, feel free to ask questions, visit or just see some of the process. Word of warning assume there will be spoilers if you do happen to drop in though.
