One thing's for certain: This game is definitely not the "Mass Effect" of porn games.
I would hesitate to call it a porn game at this point... the scenes just aren't there, and capping off character quest lines with a 3 min scene isn't good enough.

It is a game that has porn? Sure.
Is it porn with gameplay? Not really.
I feel like it bears repeating, but Subverse is meant to be a fully-fledged game with porn in it. Game with porn, not a porn game. Also Mass Effect typically just gave us 30 second teases with nothing. So to get 3+ minutes of actual romance and sex? Still gonna be enough to blow that out the water.

And if ya want long movies...then just wait for the game to be done and for them to start making movies again. Hell if Subverse i even more of a success later on, who's to say they won't make films in its universe?

I take it that the game will be only sold on Steam for now because payment processors are sketch about dealing with adult games? I just don't get how Steam gets away with it. I know for a fact that porn websites are even using paypal now.
Well Steam unlike say Pornhub, is actually willing to go through the adult section and remove what would be considered illegal content. Pornhub just didn't feel like doing the work and just nuked everything that wasn't from a verified user.

And if you read the diary update, you know they're still working on their own website to sell the game, its just taking a bit more than they predicted.

Do you expect something like

I'm a bit surprised that the next arc is focused on Elaisha and that she is the next waifu to join the crew. I would expect that the Huntress (or fortune) would be the next waifu given the current state of the story.

Wall I won't mind, since she is number 2 on my current waifu tier list. :)
Nah Huntress is gonna be hunting us a bit more before she'll eventually join. Most folks are surprised it isn't Fortune, but I predicted that given her early attitude and propensity for trying to stay hidden, she wouldn't join that soon. I think its more likely she helps us in finding and recruiting more ladies (Ela, Sova, and Taron), and then a situation will occur where she finally has to jump onboard. Then Huntress, then Blythe, and then finally Fow-chan in the endgame.

I personally will be waiting for full release. The newest update sounds good on paper, devotion quests are something to be excited about but if I remember correctly from one of the old updates it is the last thing they want to implement in the game, maybe even after 1.0 release.
Also if they are working on VR I hope none of the backer money went into it. Most backers probably do not own VR headset and do not intend to so they will never use this feature. Ofc there is no problem if it's just additional thing, but you can never know if main game didn't lose something because of it.

Yeah, info from 14 August 2020, it may be outdated ofc, but that's what we know for now.

Story purposes, I guess. But I wouldn't mind having an elf early game.:LOL:

Think of Fortune or the Huntress as Viola DeWynter from Saints Row the Third. You met them early game only to join the gang in the later plot of the game.

Curious, for those that downloaded the standalone for the mega, how are we suppose to update that? Kinda not to keen on starting over...
All you got to do is wait for someone to update the files, or hoping the game save has longshot compatibility which I appreciate greatly.

Likely outdated now, as that was written when they were still on the 'release as a full game' plan.

Ya I'm fine with them adding Elaisha now, and seeing what happens with Huntress / Fortune later. It mixes it up a little to tease Fortune a bit and then add her later, too. I'm good with that.

Its kinda weird that Fortune will join the crew so late in the story. When she was one the first waifus in the trailer.

Not worth it yet, game is 17GB but only is playable up to act 2 which you can get to in 4 hours along with all side missions.

To be fair, this is actually one of the few games on this site i've actually purchased (various reasons) , and...

Well, frankly, from the 140 pages of thread and 126 reviews after its' first week out, you could really claim a lot of people were atleast curious in it (unless much of the pages are negative in nature)

To be fair, nobody should be buying into EAs (or preordering), you're literally buying an unfinished product that's potentially subject to lots of unpopular changes on its way to final release (or never ever see release). While I did buy the EA, I saw it more as paying for all of their movies I downloaded for free over the years, so I went in with zero expectations and didn't feel like StudioFOW was obligated to deliver something for my $30.

That being said, VR isn't entirely bad news for people without headsets. If it's usable in every scene, they'd have to clean up the animations of any blatant clipping, which benefits a possible free cam feature as well.
