Hi guys! Faced such a problem (and it seems I'm not the only one): when you start a new game, a video should play, sounds go, but a black screen. Tried different methods but haven't helped yet.
Maybe someone knows? Or just wait for the patch?

You have the exact same problem I do. Waited a bit and it loaded up the actual game started after about minute. Whatever intro was offered though is missed completely.

This game is comparable to puzzle and candy-crush h-games.
The sex-scenes are mostly disconnected from the story, and you have to earn them by completing tedious "game" sessions.
The big difference is that in those kind of games, each session is very short. In Subverse, it takes around 10-20 minutes... just for a single SFM loop.

Also, the writing is atrocious.
It's tiring to hear cringy sexual innuendos all the damn time.
It's like that one kid who constantly makes fart jokes.

Don't forget all the loading screens...

I tried to play further, all dialogues and battles work fine, but alas, all the videos are not played. It looks like you will have to wait for the patch.

In terms of distribution platform and to reach "mainstream" players/audience, there isn't anyone better than steam...

Uh, it been grabbing attention on steam for quite a while before the early access release did happen... don't see why there needed to be a demo of an early access though.
a demo on steam so people try it and then sell the game or in this case the EA on a platform or a website that let them add all the porn they want heck they even have their own website

How many games of similar adult content have demos on steam that is being sold on other platforms but not steam itself? Do you really think Steam would even allow for people to have them host demos where the full game would be sold off site, they wouldn't see a dime from? That is not how the world works you know...

Just to throw in my two cents, but they'd never be able to sell the game on their own site. Payment processors are notoriously anal about the kind of content they're associated with, I remember when sites like Renderotica had to get rid of entire categories (like bestiality and possibly even rape, been a while since I've visited them) because they got big enough for their processor to take notice of who they were and kick them to the curb. I think the only payment processors that are willing to deal with this sort of content are in Japan, but in my experience it's an absolute pain the ass to deal with them sometimes, because a lot of them refuse to accept foreign credit cards.

It doesn't matter where you sell the game because it's all going through the same handful of payment processors who will essentially ban you from making money they second they find objectionable material on your site.

Name me off some. I wanna know.
There is a search bar on the top of the right hand corner of the page. Now, type in any letter click search. then click on the first game you see. Done.

But on a less flip comment. I'll say just about any VN style game is better. Then again, I guess the question should be: which does better porn, I'd say any game on this site does porn better. If you're talking about marrying gameplay and porn, still any game. This game doesn't do anything with porn in this game in it's tucked off corner vending machine. If you're talking about engagement, and I discount high profile VN's since their gameplay is limited, I would look at games like the Japanese games from like DLSite. They have gameplay mixed with their porn. From the top of my head there are the games that Kagura games localize. There are about 20+ Illusion games with gameplay and sex (you can change sex angles!) Personal favorite is Sexy Beach 2/3. I could choose a few RPG maker games (I don't like those games to be fair). If you want a specific one I think is good: Zombie Retreat is fantastic gameplay wise and sex is tied to quest that progresses the characters' arcs. A game like Time Loop Hunter is good a Sandbox game with interesting time mechanics, though It can seem grindy at times. I liked Faerin's Man of the House sandbox as well. Good game play all in all and I heard Mistwood Manor his follow up also has some engaging gameplay. I also heard good things about Peasant's Quest. Long Live the princess is also pretty good, I just remembered. Oh! If you haven't played The Architect's Halk'n Stalk series or Goons Raid Her are also a good play.

So, I don't know if you were serious about your comment, but I took my response seriously enough to give the above. Have a good day!
