is it worth looking forward to? I just want to know that.

Three girls, all naked, bunch of poses, bunch of BGs and filters. Some poses can be unlocked for devotion points, some backgrounds can be unlocked for credits. Outfits are still not available. Welp, I dunno, just a gallery mode, nothing big.

I'm not a fan of studio stuff at all, so it's useless to me anyway, improved or not. But I guess many people love such things, so at least some players will be happy about this...

Yes, but I thought they were adding this gallery for people who like to create sex scenes from the ground. Like people who play Honey select.

The level of customization is very low for the current gallery. The player can't create his own pose, can't add multiple creater and so on.

It doesn't bother me since i'm not that kind of player, but I guess they won't be happy about the current gallery.

Well the idea is basically, you use the camera and get the "pose" you wan't then you can start take screenshots through the photo mode thingie at the aspect, angle, whatever you want.

Not the answer you really want, but yeah, several got it. As for a "pirated" update, you just have to be patient and wait. Or start explore the deep waters of Jolly Roger outside this site -)

Ya,when I read the 6/10 dev log I felt the idea of this was a waste of dev time, but as you said, some folks may be into this sort of thing.

For the record, the gallery was already planned for the game, you could see it behind Killi, and she mentions it in dialogue. They just put it in to tide folks over til the next content update. Which we'll be hearing about soon.

Yeah looking back this game turned out to be really disappointing.

There are literally multiple games on this site with not even half the money that is achieving more what Studiofow could do. The girls character weren't even interesting, I will take WhatAlegend, Dark Magic or MIST anyday.

It might be a technical shell to fill stuff later but it fails to be a GOOD porn game, period. I will be playing it for free.

Adult games can merge the adult aspect and game aspect though.
They don't have to be separate, and game elements can actually help with eroticism.

Imagine a basic life sim with a girl. No dialogue, all interactivity.

Some days you wake up, and she's not in bed with you, your character smells food from downstairs. - Oh looks like your partner got up earlier than you.
Some days you wake up, and the girls right there in bed with you. You have the option to tease her while she's asleep or get her to wake up.
Maybe you've been too busy with work and the girl's got pent up. Her lust stat is high and one day you wake up to her sucking you off.

You're still playing a basic life sim game. Probably managing money, time, and character's energy, but the game's mechanics can actually enhance the erotic play.

This was of course a design decision made because FOW understands that a lot of people will not enjoy not being able to control whether or not the girls fuck alien dicks or not.

Well technically it's still happening. Your character's just not seeing it, but you get the point.

Very few "games" on this site have any actual game mechanics though. At most its like slideshows with "push next" or have a choice of multiple to advance. FOW wanted to make a game with adult content, not a porn game, they stated so several times. If creators out there want to challenge them to the task to do better, nothing stop them.

Most people crying about Subverse seems to be because its not what they wanted or expected. But that you can find with just about any game, adult content or not. There is always people crying because the game is not what they wanted, or expected.

In any case they already heard that folks want it more integrated to the story and addressed that months ago.

As for the other folk that are comparing this to other games on this site...that really doesn't work, as you're comparing apples to a giant fucking watermelon How many other adult games on here are built in Unreal 4, have cinematic cutscenes and full voice acting?

Something like that, with characters who aren't hideous to look at and more explicit would generally improve the eroticism of the scenes themselves, so you don't just look at a gif and click off immediately.

I agree that you don't need every line of dialogue between the characters be fully explicit.

But a static animation, just like a static CG is actually just still shorthand representation of a full scene. You can create the illusion of a fuller and more dynamic adult scene by using it as the base and adding more on top of it. Text, changing the speed of the animation based on what's happening in the text. Even dumb camera work and louder impact sounds to make it sound more aggressive without changing the animation itself to make it look more aggressive.

My criticisms don't come from any hate towards the game or towards StudioFOW.
It's pretty clear I do not like the majority of sexual content StudioFOW produces, so even if they integrated it better, it wouldn't necessarily improve the experience for me.

I'm talking about from a general game design standpoint.

Of course, but that's with any game regardless of being adult game or not. I prefer one type of games above the other. I like some mmo's and dislike others. We just have to accept that we can't like everything and anything. If someone doesn't like something then spend calories on things they do like, or rise to the challenge and make something better (in their eyes) yourself.

Oh and please don't start on characters in Mass Effect Andromeda. The characters were hideous. On launch that game got so much flak you could lit up bonfires for days, weeks, even months. You have game series such as Dragons Age, Mass Effect, at some extent the Witcher and a few others try to include "romance" and some soft core stuff but its awkward as fuck. The writers not into writing smut and that type of things. Most adult games on this site to fail to deliver on story and characters too, its just one giant cringe fest. For VN's the renders can be nice and all, but they secondary, the meat and bone is the story and characters.
