The reviews for this game blow my mind. Like this game is on a level 99.9% of the games here will never reach or achieve. I even looked at reviews by some of the people giving it 2 and 3 starts, and then they give 5 stars to games that have even less gameplay, less quality and less content. It just goes to show how worthless most reviews are these days. I have 95 hours in the game because I bought it years ago when it first came out on Steam, so I've played it all along the way, multiple times through (well, to the end of the then-current content). It's not perfect, but man is it just simply top-tier all around. I get the criticism that there's not enough sex scenes during the story telling - but I disagree. There's the right amount - because this isn't a fucking porno story. They really tried to have a compelling story in a sex-crazed universe. I don't know, it really worked for me. I've played adult/hentai games since 2002 - I've seen very few games in this space reach this high and see completion.

Imo, the problem is that the target audience is too wide. When I first heard of the game, Studio Fow was trying to advertise it not just a porn animation, but a decent game too. I think Nutaku, while have no affiliation with this, was trying to push something similar in the same time frame, so there are some that wants to critics this not with a "porn game lenses", but actual game review lenses. Old Fow enjoyers, on the other hand, are spoil by their past work and expect it to be at least as good or better then their movies. Given how big the wave that patreon/start-up & how well know it is, there are just a lot of expectation from way to may different audience.

Other stuff on this site, however, are more niche. People have likes & dislikes. If they hate a particular aspect of a game that was mention in the tags, they just not going to play it = No review = No Negative review. You can't expect someone who like gameplay to just wander into a visual novel game & leave negative review there about the lack of game play. It's like one of those test that give points on correct, no point on blanks, and negative points on wrong answer. While other only answer what they are confident in, FOW tried to answer all the question.

Okay now it kind of worked, thank you.
My own save however, that i want to continue because of the pics and all, still doesnt work, "save loading error" it says.
Already started over twice, there is simply no way they expect players to do the 35 hour grind over and over again with each little update, right?

Which method worked, mine or the other's?

I never played this game by myself, I always use the saves from the people who post here, from the first version until now.

A mix of both. Used the save provided, renamed it and put it in the remote folder. It unlocks achievements at least, which seem to be broken for now.
The sensible option is to never touch this game on steam indeed. I bought it in EA back then, even though i didnt believe fow will pull through, or deliver on expectations, based on their past.

Problem is it doesnt do anything particularly well. Majority of the h-scenes are tied to pandora and have no context to them so its like eating a sandwich with no meat, theres just no filling. Gameplay is....mediocre at best, they tried to do 2 different things and didnt expand on either to make them interesting so it got boring after the first solar system. The story is...well you're right they tried, but that's the best thing you can say about it. The story really wasn't good, and the best comparison I can think of is it tried to emulate Deadpool humor with none of the charm. The game just tried to do too much and failed to make any of it particularly interesting past the 2 hour mark.

Enter the crack/Rune/ folder you will see a folder (I don't remember the name) copy that folder and leave it where the subverse.exe is, you will get something to overwrite, give yes and that's it (but before make a backup of that folder before overwrite)

Why are we not using MEGA for a game this big? and no I don't want to download 14 individual parts. The FILESDP, buzz, and Upload now links don't even work and pixeldrain/gofile won't even attempt to download it due to traffic/size of the file. Can we just use MEGA
pretty sure mega has a file size limit that won't allow a single file that's as massive as this one

Doesn't help that this person(not you, Atl92) completely disregarded the scope of the game's project through its own promises and advertisements. It's true that other games have less gameplay, less content, and/or less quality. But many of those games were smaller in size. Subverse had a great turnout with their kickstarter success. Many of their advertisements, especially earlier ones, kept touting that they were a hornier version of Mass Effect. A "porn" "game" that put more emphasis on the latter while not sacrificing the former. If I recall, they said they might be the first "AAA" porn game at the time. My review for this game was originally 4 Stars when it first came out in Early Access, because of the prospect and potential.

Their ideas and concepts are fine but the execution is poor. It's like the game had little to no proper direction or leadership. It's like they tried to be a SHMUPS, Mass Effect, XCOM, and Visual Novel elements all-together. Then didn't even try to go deeper with at least one of them(except for the VN) and stopped trying half-way. Any game can be a "masterpiece" if you had poorly executed gameplay, content, or quality elements. You have to have NEVER played any other "AAA" game with or without adult themes, then you might find this game impressive.

My point here still stands:

I came back after 3 years to give this one another go as I had hopium this game will surprise me in v1.0. In the end, I was pleasantly... disappointed. I am changing my review from decent to sub-par. They didn't even bother to improve and add upon the existing game mechanics. It's like "Hey! Let's just ignore the game's foundation and add more fluff pieces!"

The Devotion Quests are meh, most of the erotic scenes are still outside of the story, character interaction is still minimum outside of the main plot, ground combat is braindead X-COM, space combat is repetitive chore, ship upgrades are literal tiny 5% number boost, loading screens almost everywhere even talking to crewmates, the writing is god awful cringey, and there is ZERO actual exploration(all of the extra planets are just text boxes).

I like the FuccBot idea as a fresh fun spin on rogue AI, I like the character designs(Demi, Killison, and Elaisha), the voice actors clearly had fun, and there is a decent foundation of world-building. But it is damaged by uninspired combat, dissonance between inside and outside of main plot, tone-deaf writing, lacklustre upgrade and reward system, vapid lack of exploration in a sci-fi adventure, and an abundance of loading screens.

I actually had more fun with Starfield with/without mods because at least I can physically pretend that I am in a sci-fi setting and interact within its limited space. The best I can describe this game is a glorified VN. It makes a parody of Mass Effect and its famous romance gameplay, yet they put little to no effort onto why Mass Effect's romance and companion system is beloved. I am sorry if I sound harsh, but this was a porn game that propped itself up as the "first" AAA high production game by its own developers. I am thoroughly disappointed.
If you like the game then more power to you. You enjoyed it far more than most, but completely disregarding all of the reviews that commonly points out fundamental issues is straight up ignorant.

In my opinion, the game had everything but direction. Whoever was the game director had no clear direction on what this game wanted to be. A Visual Novel? A Mass Effect Parody? A 4th Wall Comedy? A X-COM clone? A Touhou-style SHMUPs game? Instead it threw all of its dice at once for all of the boards and VN just had the majority roll.
