Maybe someone should attach the Anni video with a fat "Yes, they're going to make videos again!" in the OP.

Just want to note some things, they didn't 'stop using video game characters' they were in the midst of working on several things when Patreon suddenly kicked them off the platform. They had plans then, they still have plans now (see the anniversary video).

Second they were always going to make a game, as it was a milestone goal from their Patreon. And even though it was removed, they still decided to go ahead with it, and make it their sole focus. It doubled as establishing their own IP and characters, as well as experience in Unreal Engine, which they'll use to animate in the future.

They made it clear during funding and development that this wasn't going to be like the usual adult games that are just a bunch of text, some bridging choices and good/bad endings, or some basic match-3 game. They wanted to make a full-on game title with adult content. If no one 'gave a fuck' then I don't see how they went and raised over 2 million pounds to make it in the first place :)

If you don't like it, that's fine, but they delivered is still far above and beyond the typical smut game. I honestly can't go back to a not voiced game, this game has absolutely spoiled that with its full voice cast.

They voiced their intention to make films again after this, so you didn't have to concern yourself with them solely making games. This was a journey for them as is, and completing it in just 5 years when there are so many less complex games here that have been in development since before Subverse existed and still have yet to be completed is commendable, and cannot be denied.

This isn't an attack or arguing your opinion, its yours to have. But many folks here have voiced their displeasure without knowing all the facts or just reading the FAQ's of the kickstarter campaign.
i agree with you, i and i i think the majority of people that played this game are positive when it comes to the gaming aspect, with great story and characters. Even tho people are mixed when it comes to the Pandora mechanics instead of having the porn/lewd scenes progress with in the story people are satisfied with game as a whole. Sure stuff could have been better but its by far one of the best adult games without an question. I hope the studio gives us a great dlc and a D-quest for fowchan..

Didn't they try some new crowdfunding shit for those and got like 4% funded at most?
Yes, but I’d wager there were a number of reasons for that. They couldn’t mention or link to it in the anniversary video, only those on the discord would’ve been alerted to it. Not could they post it on twitter either as linking to outside sites tends to get an account shadowbanned.

Sharing links on the internet is so much more buried now because of these stupid algorithms they have running the sites nowadays. Kickstarter was easier as you could easily promote it back then.

Kickstarter itself has also fallen heavily out of favor in recent years outside of maybe funding Pen & Paper RPGs. I think the last REALLY big project on there was Owlcat's Wrath of the Righteous.

I guess there's no point in expecting updates for this game anymore.
I swear I think the AAA game industry successfully psy-op’d the human race.

Support a product after release immediately with season passes and planned content and the questions used to be why wasn’t this included or was this secretly cut out to sell later.

Nowadays it’s you have to come out with something immediately less you’re just declared a dead game.

Keep in mind that they’re a small team, and do not have the same number staff they had throughout the kickstarter run.

Translating a game with a giant script, including made up words into numerous languages is not a simple task. But it’s still important as it’ll help them get even more people playing their game.

Most of said fanbase is on their discord server. So if you were gonna hear anything it’d be there. It is a public server fyi, you don’t need an invite or be supporting through fansly.

Them being quiet about things is also fairy standard. They don’t have a specified social media person to constantly give news updates. They’re not one to say ‘day 37 there is no news we’re still on it’. They’ll make an announcement when there’s something to show.

Samine (voice director/Sova’s VA) said this back in May

“I have seen a lot of questions floating around in the various Subverse chat rooms about the status of several key, important topics.
Development on localization of the game in various languages, such as Chinese, Russian, and many more, is still ongoing. This translation process is a collaborative effort between the Subverse team and multilingual fans who reached out and expressed interest in working together on the massive endeavor. We're grateful to these individuals for their effort and progress they've made thus far.

Development of the game is still ongoing, and I will provide future updates here in this channel when I am given the greenlight to do so!

A big thank you from myself and the team for your continued support and patience.”

---- But you think we'll ever hear anything from the Dev's ---- We're always here monitoring the chat to see what our community is saying, wanting, and wishing for. Just because we're not posting daily doesn't mean we don't care about your opinions. We're a small team and right now we're heads-down working on delivering some crucial content:

• Kickstarter DLCs - Steam's DLC policy changes threw us a massive curveball. We're now having to build a custom DLC delivery system while staying compliant with Steam's new requirements. This is mostly on me, and I'm knee-deep in C++, Steamworks SDK, REST APIs, C#, etc. that are required to deliver the system. I know I've explained this before, but again, it's progressing and it WILL get done. Thanks for bearing with us.

• Localization - As said, this is a priority. We're making solid progress here. We believe localization will make the game better for everyone, so we're pushing forward with it.

• A popular character DLC - Based on your requests, we're working on this too!

Popular character DLC? Is it Celestine?

Glorified collection of short videos. Whats the point of having sex scenes if they have thing to do with the story ?! A sex scene is aways more hot if there is at least sume build up to it . The panora's box thing is total bs and a lame device for the developers to link the sex scenes with the gameplay.

Oh great one scene per character ... totally worth it, with no dialog no transition just an other loop sex scene . The story is cringy as hell too so its not like you are playing this for the story . The gameplay consists of two mini-games you repeat over and over again - the asteroid type clone and the "tactical" turn based board game . My advice for any one who has interest in this is to simply go watch the videos on rule 34. So of the scenes and characters are generally hot , but again scenes have absolutely no context to them. Why is Demi suddenly a futa doing Lily ? Why is Lily's experiments fucking the crew members , no dialog no build up no nothing.

True, playing this game for porn is like scrolling on R34/Pornhub etc. :ROFLMAO: They sure wasted the chance to make this one of the best PORN game out there.

I still think the gameplay is not that bad, maybe a bit grindy too at first (but they already toned it down). And the animations are still great just what you can expect from FOW but sure it should have been so much better especially for the sex scenes, some more should be integrated into story or at least some lead-in dialogue before those PANDORA scenes would be great just like how recruitment scenes work.

Another thing is there were like almost no dirty talk during sex scenes  Another wasted potential for full VO game if you ask me
