And that right there is the issue. Who tf cares about VO anyway. Some of the best h games dont even have it.I think the voice actors got a hugh chunk of the funding

Lmao you are pathetic. Keep glazing your slop with a 2 million dollar budget. Maybe if they used AI they would have had an actual game. And you ceased to be relevant with AI mention, bye.
Yeah I mean being a dik doesn't have it and it's massively successful.. same with summertimesaga and I even would make the case for NLT games even tho they have abit of voice acting the majority of the game ain't so you are rightAnd that right there is the issue. The bottom line, the devs should of just made a movie. It would have been much more well received. They clearly were out of their element when it came to making games.Yeah I mean being a dik doesn't have it and it's massively successful.. same with summertimesaga and I even would make the case for NLT games even tho they have abit of voice acting the majority of the game ain't so you are right
yeah, i personally really like the game tho, it has some Major flaws no denying it specially after it was held as the "Biggest potential for adult gaming" the story is wacky but fun, the characters are hot and have their own unique qualities the devotion quest is pretty good, some of them anyway and it was a good OST and of cruse the voice acting is by far the best around i would say Fresh women and forbidden fantasy is slightly better.. but what i really don't like is the NO communicado devs are doing.. i mean they barley are giving us uppdates, their web page is "under constraction" and all of the promisis they made that they havent keept so yeah i feel like thats just make the whole siutatuion with the game bad.. lots of games keep on getting uppdates and where the devs keeps on communicating with thier fansThe bottom line, the devs should of just made a movie. What's objectively good about it tho? The asteroid mini game is tedious and boring, the turn based combat is passable... but it feels like there is always next wave and then another, it ends up artificially prolonging the play time and dating isn't done very well, if it were 3rd person "rpg" action game where you actually go on missions, like say loyalty missions from ME2 that would be more rewarding, have a nice level shooting actual enemies with guns, cover based system, then be rewarded with sex and have more sex scenes by talking with them, doing quick little fetch quests around space ship and few locations on plantes or space stations, citadel like hub where you can go shopping, play fun minigames (citadel DLC had quite a few fun games) and maybe even relax in some brothels, fucking some unique NPCs that would be variations of the regular models, different skins for those, easily add a lot of new models at a low development cost, all for money earned in missions), existing story could have been easily implemented into all of that, it would be actual game, maybe less unique dateable characters, but few variants of each, and have them all share the rigs so all animations can be played with each character (can we talk about how the animations aren't even interactable at all? Can't even move the camera or it reveals half of the scene isn't even animated and dicks and limbs are clipping through each other).yeah, i personally really like the game tho, it has some Major flaws no denying it specially after it was held as the "Biggest potential for adult gaming" the story is wacky but fun, the characters are hot and have their own unique qualities the devotion quest is pretty good, some of them anyway and it was a good OST and of cruse the voice acting is by far the best around i would say Fresh women and forbidden fantasy is slightly better.. but what i really don't like is the NO communicado devs are doing.. i mean they barley are giving us uppdates, their web page is "under constraction" and all of the promisis they made that they havent keept so yeah i feel like thats just make the whole siutatuion with the game bad.. lots of games keep on getting uppdates and where the devs keeps on communicating with thier fans
My biggest issue is just the lack of community updates and response from the devs the latest months.. we barley hear from them and I sometimes feel like they have just given up on the project which isn't something new when it comes to the adult gaming industry. But hopefully they will give us a update on how things are going soonThis may be the only place I've ever seen people claim that voice acting doesn't matter. If it didn't, we would still be making silent movies. Companies would not spend millions to voice their games/movies/series if no one cared. And it IS a skill. Japan literally has voice acting schools. A good voice actor can add so much emotion to a scene, or use different tones to change the meaning of a phrase, give insight on what the character is feeling or thinking or portrait sarcasm for example, without the need to pause a scene with narration. Bad ones will sound like your GPS, monotone and emotionless at all times. So you can't just pick randos off the street, much less use AI. This does not mean a VN can't be good without VO, but like... books can be entertaining even though they have no music, no images, no gameplay elements or choices. Does that mean every game on this site would be better as a book? I doubt it.
As for the problem with the game, the issue is lack of experience (at making games), poor direction, and overambitious marketing. Taken individually, the different parts of the game can be fine, but put together it's a mess.
Take the story for example. Rebels trying to bring down an oppressive government isn't very innovative, but it's fine and you can take it many different ways, there's some ok worldbuilding, the main characters are somewhat interesting... but then they ruin everything with the tone they adopt. How are you supposed to take the story seriously when the characters themselves don't seem to? Everything has to be or end in a sex joke. Like you'll have a serious scene about the political machinations required for the empress to keep the empire in line, then go right back to dildo superweapons and swearing every other line. And even if the humour was exceptional (it's not) when there is only one kind over dozens of hours non-stop, it gets old fast.
Similar thing with the land and space battles. On their own, it's not particularly exciting gameplay, but it's passable. Certainly better than most minigames H-game devs put in their VNs, and if it was just a minigame during main quests you only do a handful of times, no one would complain. But it's not. They are everywhere; main quests, side quests, exploration. And you need to do them hundreds of times to fully level-up your crew members, but there's basically no progression, no variety, little challenge or reward, so again, it gets old fast.
And the issue with the sex scenes being completely disassociated from the story and gameplay has been stated enough times.
Good quality voice acting can enhance a game. And it's also not 'easy'. Mark Hamill fucked up his throat while performing the Joker due to the strain of it all. Or Liam O'Brian caughted blood from all the screaming he did in Asura's Wrath. This may be the only place I've ever seen people claim that voice acting doesn't matter. I do hope FOW would make movies of these Subverse characters. Maybe they will after they are really done with the gameGame probably would have been so much bigger if there were animations being made/released with the characters, while the game was being made.
maybe i just wish there was more Blythe fan art. idk

Nice false equivalence. A movie is not the same thing as a game. And for an indie game VO is a luxury, not a necessity. Especially with how expensive, time consuming it is to implement. A good game will get elevated with good voice work but a bad game will still be bad with voice overs or not. If instead of wasting money on voice acting instead they focused on making a decent game we likely would be somewhere instead of the pile of shit we have here. That or if instead of making a game they just used their overpaid voice actors to make a movie. They clearly wanted to make one since they did essentially already did but threw in some shitty minigames to pad the length and make it a "game".This may be the only place I've ever seen people claim that voice acting doesn't matter. Reason #12132 why voice acting before making an actual good game was a mistake. Every localization requires hiring a bunch of new talent and all the pain that comes with that. And the fact they are focusing on localization's just shows how they don't feel confident to work on anything new and are just stalling out of hopes people just forget about their fk ups.As reported by the team of translators from my country who are currently working with them, they are currently working on localization and paid updates
Bruh, this game needs maybe a single dude that translates shit from English to another language per language. Not exactly that much of a money sink. Unless you actually think they're hiring whole ass VAs for every language like most other professional localisations do.Reason #12132 why voice acting before making an actual good game was a mistake. So you agree with me. Thank you for your input.A good game will get elevated with good voice work but a bad game will still be bad with voice overs or not.
