From what it looks like from this game, it's going to show others that they can put in the minimum possible effort and still make a profit. But the higher budget is like one of the biggest points though. Its success can show others that they can put more money and effort into adult games and still make a profit.
I must have missed the part where the pitch stated "will contain only minimum amount of porn with almost no relation to the rest".All the game elements is described in the kickstarter, so if people did back it for other reasons, that would be on them right?
If this is minimum effort what are things like summertime Saga, Wild Life, and all these DAZ 3D VNs? No effort games? From what it looks like from this game, it's going to show others that they can put in the minimum possible effort and still make a profit.
Subverse is a game big enough to have his own dramas, don't bring more games to the discussion...If this is minimum effort what are things like summertime Saga, Wild Life, and all these DAZ 3D VNs? No effort games?
Then you're deaf.I must have missed the part ... almost no relation to the rest".
I say this as someone who dislikes the game greatly.minimum possible effort
I'm pretty sure all of that was not even remotely detailed during the funding phase. And the first details given for Pandora were a LOT more complex than what we ended up getting as well. They specifically said that you have to unlock the scenes, and that you can AVOID scenes that you don't want to see... so people who don't want to see dog-fucker heroines don't have to.
You think the adult scenes can matter if they're COMPLETELY AVOIDABLE?
The fact that you didn't see this coming is on you.
And here we dont have sex scenes at all - its just loops with no context to them. Comparing gameplay is pointless, no one will play it for gameplay.Holy shit guys, it's a fucking game for you to jerk off, not something like Cyberpunk who promised many things and delayed it so many times, to end up being a complete broken shit.
Also, i see many people complaining about the sex scenes. Should I remind you that, apart from very few games, the rest of the sex scenes in other games are a visual novel without sound and that the only mechanic in the entire game is click in one of the two options?
Hell, this game is only in V0.1 and it has dubbed dialogues, 4/5 hours of gameplay and although for now they are only loops, actually animated sex scenes.
I see it like a total win.
Ignore whatever they said about what to come and just judge it all on the early access release. At same time we should create a big dumpster fire and throw every 0.1 release of any game on this site that isn't released as a full game with it right? And here we dont have sex scenes at all - its just loops with no context to them. Comparing gameplay is pointless, no one will play it for gameplay.
Its unfortunate that folks can't share positive opinions or outlooks on the game, else they're called a shill fanboy. And the ones that are vehemently pessimistic are generally just people who've been burned by AAA titles so much they just can't help but see the worse case scenario in everything.Holy shit guys, it's a fucking game for you to jerk off, not something like Cyberpunk who promised many things and delayed it so many times, to end up being a complete broken shit.

You can't really rate Subverse as an AAA title though (maybe if you just confine it in a niche of adult games). As the guy from the review linked earlier said, you don't get much game for 2 mill (or what he said) nowadays, hence early access for injection of funds...Its unfortunate that folks can't share positive opinions or outlooks on the game, else they're called a shill fanboy. I understood this by the first month. Before the funding period even ended.I'm pretty sure all of that was not even remotely detailed during the funding phase.
That would be better, I 100% agree. And strangely enough I've read a good amount of VNs with H scenes that are completely integrated in the plot on PC
This statement makes no sense. That said, I did expect to whole thing to at best be okay-ish, just not that the most disappointing thing would be the one they've built their name on previously.
Lol I guess you don't have standards.Holy shit guys, it's a fucking game for you to jerk off, not something like Cyberpunk who promised many things and delayed it so many times, to end up being a complete broken shit.

But there is such thing as being extremely over the top optimistic and that is no better than being extremly over the top pessimistic. Its unfortunate that folks can't share positive opinions or outlooks on the game, else they're called a shill fanboy. And the ones that are vehemently pessimistic are generally just people who've been burned by AAA titles so much they just can't help but see the worse case scenario in everything.
I played games that was sure as hell worse fun than this one too, so fun is relative. This game is not as fun as other games I've played that have way less money put into them, and it's a shame because it's a big $2 million project.
Well Cybperpunk maybe, but F76 deserved everything it got.You can't really rate Subverse as an AAA title though (maybe if you just confine it in a niche of adult games). Problem is at large people buying into early access and go "what? is this all?", not really grasping early access at all. I'm all for valid critic. There been some nice reviews around that pointed out both upsides and downsides. Some people just take it to far imho. Take like F76 and Cyberpunk as example. They became everyones favorite to dogpile on. People had to overdo each other in serve up the biggest pile of shit to be the most relevant.
And still... F76 is quite enjoyable to play these days, it come a long way. As for Cyberpunk I played through it without much issues at all.Well Cybperpunk maybe, but F76 deserved everything it got.
Yeah these days, but look how long to took to get there. I mean it deserved what it got because it was made by billion dollar company who for years were notorious for buggy games on a aging engine. And still... F76 is quite enjoyable to play these days, it come a long way. As for Cyberpunk I played through it without much issues at all.
So dogpile on Subverse now without even know how the final result will be is just a waste of calories imho..
Good vid. Not sure how many of his critiques can be changed (i.e the script, as its likely been fully recorded already), but if they're making enough from EA sales, they might be able to rewrite later portions of the game. One can hope. You must be registered to see the links
