god no, 99% of the gameplay is tedious as F. Would rather they go back to making rendered videos.
Well, that's up to them to decide. If they decided so, then the profit for the game suits them, despite all the whining that comes from people like you, the game turned out great for a company that has never made them before.

I find it so weird the gameplay is the concern of so many. As compared to the numerous click and watch text-filled choice stuff we've had for decades. They were pretty upfront about wanting to make an actual game, not just something you'd breeze through holding down ctrl + space bar. Even other smut games I do like, like NLT's series of games, are fairly simple walk around and click stuff til you get it right types.

Is it complex? No, but they weren't aiming for that, its their first title.

People wanna ask for save files and skips to get to the smut, but then also complain that there isn't enough context or story behind it. Now they've got it with Cel's content (almost as though they don't have to worry about time or budget now, what a notable difference)
That's what I'm talking about too, for example, I haven't yet come across a single porn game that would surpass subverse

The only problem i have with the game is the way the sex scenes are introduced. 90 % of them are in the stupid Pandora thing. They are not linked in to the game at all . Its like you just watch random videos on Rule 34. The is no build up to them , no dialog during the scenes. Nothing. Like how the hell did Demi ending up in a gang-bang , grew a dick and so on...

Baldur's Gate 3 is not exactly indie. Sure, was made by studio not tied to a huge publisher, but still had WotC attached to it.
Okay? So they buyed a license? But that does mean...? That they paid someone for their license and then they are not indie but...? Larian still is Indie. Indie means independent. They are not owned by big publisher, no shareholders, complete free creativity. People just dont understand the term Indie anymore.

The modern context of indie games is also seen as generally being done by small developers with relatively small budgets (which is rooted in independent movies always being was smaller in budget to anything a big studio craps out). Larian is by no means a small studio and threw way more money at the entire project than what people on here bitch about Studio FOW apparently scammed Kickstarter supporters out of.

It's also why you have people argue that Clair Obscur isn't really an indie title, since the entire project got hollywood people in its cast. Compare that to the likes of, say, Blasphemous and you really see the difference.

Given you had about 9 recruitable ladies, the scenes variation in terms of fetishes, and the ludicrous amount of people here and elsewhere whining about the mantic stuff being NTR (which it isn't), I don't really blame them for making it optional viewing.

Cuz I seriously doubt everyone would've been into seeing sova fist the captain's ass :p

My issue is that, getting to the end originally took about 13 hours on steam. Didn't even access every scene, and now... a recent update+the celestina dlc released... My whole save file is gone. So I'd have to restart.... yay.....

Assuming that was before 1.0? a save wipe was always planned, they told us about a year in advance when we reached 0.9 the entire game structure was redone, XP/Devotion bars were merged and the rewards changed. Using an old save would just break the game.

Eh I never kept up with the news/updates, so my bad. Just wish they had some way of implementing a catch up mechanic/some sort of skip feature if you cleared the game already. Woulda been nice anyways. And apparently there's some new early stuff so you shouldn't necessarily skip the cutscenes and what not? But eh, just feels bad.

And yeah I can just watch it on a video site I'm sure it's been leaked but... ain't the same either ya know?

Aye but they did lessen the XP grind, so its not really a hassle to get back to where you were.

Thats still not what... Indie means.

The thing between the names you just said. Larian,Studio FOW.... the comparison... lol. Larian paid its production by... games they make. Divinity Original Sin, Sin II. Divinity Original Sin development was about 4,5 Million, some kickstarter, lot personal debt the devs took. No numbers how many sold, but Sin II sold about 7,5 Mio copies on Steam, Steam says on their plattform it made about 365 Million dollar. (No numbers for Xbox or Playstation are given, also no Epic Game Store or others) - So we can say they made... alot, with their Games.

Baldurs Gate 3 Production was about 100 Million...so. No, they took no money of their playerbase in order to develop BG3. They just early accessed it, in order to make a good game. Not because of money. Not like studios like... this one.
