Why do people keep ending statements with question marks? I also see a lot of questions ending with periods. It's a new epidemic of English failures.
"I hope they didn't follow me."
"Did they follow me?"
"I wonder if they followed me."
"What a day!" This is a statement, not a question. It's an exclamation saying the day was crazy or interesting.
Adding a question mark to that, you are asking someone about a day. You would be questioning how the day went, which would be ridiculous, since you KNOW how your day went.
I honestly though it was the easiest part of grade school language class.
It's like people think punctuation marks are used to replace entire thoughts.
