Particularly speaking I prefer when a succubus use seduction to defeat their opponents.
The seduction part is what makes them so appealing to me.
If a succubus is like a goddess before you, when they can just snap their fingers and defeat you there is no temptation and for me the appeal is lost.
By making a succubus a god-like being, you must follow 2 paths:
-The hero is a normal human being that must use his wits to escape them, like in Succubus Prison. Therefor creating a huge number of succubus like we are doing now, with a full on invasion, would be impossible, or at the very least it would not make any sense in my eyes, since a single one could take on the entire world and/or you would not be able to defeat any of them, making escape irrelevant in the end since they will take your world anyway.
-The hero must become so overpowered that he himself might be considered a god.
I dislike both of these paths, that's why I was careful in the creation of the succubus hierarchy and monsters in general. No demon or angel is too overpowered in Succubus Covenant.
A good example for the power of the succubus queen here in Succubus Covenant is Sauron with the one ring. A group of elite human and elves (Gil-Galad, Elendil and Isildur) managed to defeat him and he himself bowed when the army of Numenor came to his doorstep, having to use schemes and speech-craft from within to bring Numenor down.
The only succubi that might be considered goddess, as in, untouchable by normal means are the Succubi of the Void Clan, that's why they are the last ones to appear, when humanity has access to extremely powerful and reality changing technology.
That's my view on the matter anyways and what I used to create the lore of this game. Each developer is different.
