Status Update #50
Hello everyone!
This week we've been creating renders for
Kate, toying with animation frames, and discovering how to pop a fuse by using too much electricity. Coincidentally, we also solved a black screen issue we had a while back, which most likely resulted from voltage drops. Finnish room design caught lacking.
In hindsight, a big duh... We'll have to do some more planning and find another place for the next rig, unless we daisy chain some extension cords for a classy fire hazard. Running the rendering rig in another location is also a possibility, possibly. Maybe.
Regardless, we will be slapping a second
4090 into the rendering rig soon and really edge those power draw limits. For science and speed gains, let's go. Now, some gigabrain tech gods out there might already know all this stuff with their fancy 3 card setups, but we're catching up and learning!
Tech stuff aside, in-game functions have also been under work this week. Icon changes, a sprinkle of editing and some polishing dust on top. Freeplay and SFX are currently taking up the most time on the coding front. The Freeplay for 0.7 is similar to 0.4 with scenes that you can choose to play and explore. It's also something we had in mind for 0.5 originally function wise, so we're interested to see how it'll be received as gameplay.
