Well, that was how it was last time, doesn't mean it will be the same thing this time, but I guess they will tell us with at least 2 weeks in advance.

Every single one feels human, vulnerable, showing their soft, real, human side. They feel so close to you. Take Mia, for example. But then you’ve got Sophie with her heartbreaking backstory, Bree with her yearning to love for the first time, Eve with her sweet tsundere vibes—damn. I seriously don’t know who to choose. The last release was extremely underwhelming, 1800 renders after year of development, and I remember that it didn't feel like it at all.
Gonna be honest about this one, my expectations are low, like if they are gonna release more than 2k renders I am gonna be surprised. Which is sad because renders are among the best in all avns.

I'm trying to keep my expectations very low for the update that (eventually) comes out. The last update was supposed to be massive and felt very small; it didn't really deliver much spicy content either. By now, it takes more than a year for an update, and in my opinion, it's already difficult to meet expectations. You're reaching the spheres of the really big (and popular) AVNs, but potentially only achieving a fraction of the animations that those AVNs show for such a long update cycle. I personally don't believe there will be sex scenes with any main love interest (even though the AVN could desperately use them), maybe again with a random character who has little relevance to the story (which would be disappointing). The team delivers some of the most beautiful renders ever, but in terms of content, that's just not everything. Imagine you're developing one of the most beautiful games, but you often stagnate in terms of content or fall far short of expectations. That's why I'm left with a cautious anticipation, but overall more skepticism.

I agree that anticipation is a good thing. I've never been a fan of throwing all the girls at the MC right away, but we're talking about OVER three and a half years here, and with some of the LIs, you haven't even seen a bare chest. If such a slow pace suits you, that's your call, but opinions on that differ, and I'm different from you. You spend a relatively long time in an AVN with the characters, and after a certain point, you want to have SOME form of reward, but as I've said several times before, I think the AVN's day/night cycle takes away a lot of leeway because, realistically, a massive amount can't happen in half a day. I like the interactions between the MC and the girls, but I've never been a fan of slow-burn, and I have that feeling very strongly here.

I'm happy for you if you're completely satisfied with the pacing as it is, but after a certain amount of time, I just have different expectations for an AVN. We're still talking about an erotica genre here, and Summer Heat is often stingy with that. This still doesn't mean that I need 20 orgies from the get-go, but in my opinion, the buildup is EXTREMELY slow and cautious. And as I said, the update cycles are getting longer and longer, and many people (not just me) found the last update very disappointing. If you create some of the most beautiful character models and renders, you should eventually make more use of certain scenes. Because so far, teasing is the only thing that has happened in over three and a half years.

I don't know that I would have used the word stagnant but something does feel off imo.

I think part of it depends on how long this VN is supposed to be. I don't remember how long the camp is supposed to last. Have they done any of the art classes yet? No because it's been like two days. It's all icebreakers and physical activities to set up intimate situations for the MC (like Sophie falling on him or Bree locking her legs around him on the monkey bars).

If I compare this to other VNs with similar dev time this does feel slower paced story wise.

The main things that have happened are the initial meet and greet, a chance to hang out with each LI individually, and then the evening takes over and we get club stuff. After that, back to Ms. Hill to plant seeds for that possible romance and set up a source of conflict (him getting kicked out), and Mia finally making a move. Now we're at that ruined school because...I forgot why tbh.

Big picture, not a lot has happened. If this is gonna be some kind of multi-decade soap opera style VN, that's fine. If it's going to be shorter than that, the pace needs to pick up. I don't really know what to say about dev time, it's just the way it is.

Again, you confuse dev time with ingame pacing. It don't care about how long it take to be made. I only judge what's in game. The game itself is quite early in terms of content. It feel to me that you expect content that i would feel are more fitting for an AVN in his "midgame" phase. And like you said, we didn't even see their boobs yet, so i don't know why you expect them to have sex scenes already. None of the girls relashionship seems there no? Well expect maybe Bree.... if she is left unnatended too long by her "mom" (Sophie) lmao

Well, the devs are actively avoided answering this multiple times. Pretending (or so, that's what i think) not seing me bring this subject up in the past. From the base plot alone it would be logical to expect at least a 2 weeks things. But because of the devs time it seems impossible/improbable..... unless as you said, they planned to keep doing it over multiple decades for the rest of their life^^ ( which is, for as funny/sad as it is, fine with me. I don't mind having a bit of SH every years for the next decade lol)

edit: so yes on that point i won't defend them, it's a bit scamy. We should have a concrete answer on what they are aiming for and how long they are planning on making the game.

For me, the two things are connected somehow. I'm talking about development time and pacing. I'm repeating myself, but the limited day/night cycle takes a lot away from the AVN in terms of pacing. We can talk about how I, personally, am not a fan of the pacing so far, because the real time that has passed, over three and a half years, quickly gives me the feeling that I'm not getting enough for the time I've been waiting. I completely understand that you can separate the two, but I obviously can't. I do, however, think it's good that you always provide constructive food for thought, which is very rare in this forum, because I can definitely understand your basic way of thinking and your attitude.
