Status Update #62
Hello there!
This week we've continued with polishing. Literal polishing too, since we added some much-needed glints, or reflections, to certain renders. Unfortunately such magic isn't always easy to do in the raw renders without excessive blooming, but luckily Photoshop comes in clutch so we don't have to fight with Daz3D to make it do what we want. Just fix it in post.
We have also been playtesting and eliminating pokethroughs, shitty dialogue and a couple of branching bugs. In the process we've also been getting to play the game instead of just staring at code and renders in a folder or Daz, which is nice. It's a good feeling to see it all come together and enjoy the comfy atmosphere in Rosewood.
The Android version has also been under work, and it seems like it will require some extra steps in order to work properly in the future.
Lastly, we also worked on the animations. We took finished frames and turned them into videos with some color correction on top. Some sound effects were also added for certain movements that tend to, well, make a sound. These types of animations always tend to feel a bit strange until you slap some SFX on them, and then they just pop. In a good way of course.
What happened this week:
Android version editing
Cross-platform fixing
SFX work
Went over coding TODOs
Color correction
Animation editing
Animation loop fuckery ahhhh
Render & dialogue fixes

Yeah no release in 2025 if you ask me.
I think the devs believe/hope it will still come out this year, or else they would say so.Barring a Christmas miracle, I don't think the update will come out this year.
Only next summer, hence the name.Barring a Christmas miracle, I don't think the update will come out this year.
And that’s exactly my problem with the whole situation — I’ve kind of lost faith that they’re being fully transparent. I remember months ago when they made that 90–95% statement, and it took several weeks and several reports before they finally admitted they shouldn’t have said that, and that they weren’t even remotely at a point where that percentage made sense. But it took them multiple reports before they finally addressed it and acknowledged it.I think the devs believe/hope it will still come out this year, or else they would say so.
I have my doubts it will come this year also, still hopeful though.
Yeah, there's only 3 weeks and a half for the end of the year, they have to address the release soon, if I were them I would release it this year whatever it takes, even if they need to cut it short, missing the year isn't a big deal for me, but will damage the perception people have of them, and isn't great for some already. And that’s exactly my problem with the whole situation — I’ve kind of lost faith that they’re being fully transparent. And now I’m afraid the same thing is happening again — that it’s all just a stalling tactic, and that right before the finish line they’ll say, “Yeah, sorry guys, we tried everything, but it’s going to be 2026 after all.” In my eyes that would be a complete disaster, but honestly… at this point, what difference would it even make?
I really doubt that, there's lot's of games with a year gap or more. This update — I don’t know — is it setting a new record for the longest gap between updates?
Is this number accurate? I know it’s been 17 months, but have they actually posted 62 times about the next update?62 state updates with the same substance... nothing comical![]()
It literally says status update #62 on the postIs this number accurate? I know it’s been 17 months, but have they actually posted 62 times about the next update?
In my defense, I didn’t actually read it but that’s fair. I’ll take the hit.It literally says status update #62 on the post![]()
They are working on "wallpapers" more than they are the game, 62 progress updates with about that many wallpapers (cough renders, yeah right). And that’s exactly my problem with the whole situation — I’ve kind of lost faith that they’re being fully transparent. I think at this point, it’s not really a surprise this guys having a serious problem with stay true to their own words and promises.Less polishing.
