If that is the case, I do wish they'd be straight up about it. While I'm sure a lot of people would be pissed about it, the transparency would be appreciated.

By now it’s become pretty obvious that they completely overestimated themselves with that “95% done” statement from about two months ago. This latest report makes that clear at the latest. While I’d still like to see them at least throw out some numbers again, things are at least starting to look a bit clearer — even if it’s still somewhat unsatisfying.

I think it’s purely tactical that they’re no longer sharing numbers (like how many renders or animations there are), because doing so would either fuel more negativity — “WHAT? That’s all?” — or they might actually be able to create a surprise effect with the finished update in terms of numbers. Of course, that’s all pure speculation.

It definitely doesn’t read like pure polishing work anymore after that supposed 95% mark (where the update is basically done with only 5% polishing/testing left). They probably assumed they were “finished,” looked at the overall build, and realized it felt too underwhelming or incomplete. So they went back to creating more content/renders, etc. That would be my hypothesis for this somewhat drawn-out “chewing gum effect.”

And honestly? Even though the wait is long, I’d be willing to accept it — at least if they’ve learned from last year’s underwhelming update and are now putting in extra work to deliver something more satisfying this time around.

Yeah, after what happened in the last update where peoples main complain was "that's it?", it's looks like they're being way more careful this time. At least I'd hope they are and making sure to have a sizeable chunk of content this go around.
