It's not comparable, a proper game DLC is always less than the cost of a full game, $5 to $30. Whereas with this game some people have paid several times more than the cost of a fully made AAA game and have gotten nothing. To get the preview version of the game is $6 a month, since the last update it's been over 13 months, so people have paid $78 to get nothing.

Now, this is a more niche product compared to a pg-13 game on steam so you can't apply the exact same model but it's perfectly reasonable for people to be mistrustful given the amount of time that has passed without a release.

they are pulling in about 120k a year before patreon fees. thats minimum. whatever update they drop wont be enough to make that up to people. over the course of this game many people will have spent a few hundred. im one of those people with the mistrust. i guess its worth it to some of those subs but its wild to me. to be clear the game is amazing and well writing, and i do enjoy it. but the wait time is a completely different matter.
