Hi everybody,
as always, a heartfelt welcome to all of our newly joined members. Happy to have you and I hope you'll enjoy being part of Summer's journey. Please feel free to join Summer's community on Discord if you'd like. Thank you for your support!
Phew, that was a terrifying experience the other day. Most of you probably haven't even noticed, but my Patreon page got suspended for a minor violation of their terms of service.
It wasn't a big deal and got taken care of quickly (thanks to the Trust & Safety team), but it made me aware of how dependent I am on Patreon, where the game generates the most funding for the development, by far. I will probably have to come up with other ways to secure the future development of "Summer In The City" should the worst case scenario happen, which is unlikely, but you never know. Either by monetizing the game on all available platforms, which I'd really prefer not to do, or with private funding if possible. I will certainly do my best to avoid this from happening again.
I will let you know as soon as I've made a decision. This won't have any effect on all of you who are actively subscribed, nothing will change for you, but I feel like it's just fair to share my thoughts on this anyway. Transparency and all that, you know?!
NEWS SEGMENT:
Well, let's talk about why we're all here in the first place. I've been extraordinarily busy on all fronts of the development, and frankly, I'm looking forward to the holidays. I will take a sorely needed break from December 24th until January 1st. But until then I still have a few things to share, so expect a few more posts before the festivities begin.
Ever since the Steam store page went up, I feel like my workload doubled. It slowly but surely is setting in that this is actually a really big deal for me and the project. And I want to do it right, and do right by all of you too. Besides developing the newest update, I'm also working on some reworks that will increase the overall quality. It's a bit too early yet for me to share what I came up with exactly, but I can't wait to finally show you some first examples early next year.
The update is coming along well, but I'm a tiny bit slower than I'd like this time around, mostly due to all the other stuff I'm working on. There won't be a big delay though, no worries. I'm currently aiming for a mid January release, but it might aswell become an end of January one. Hard to tell as of yet. I'll keep you updated of course, as always.
As per usual, let's start off the first new news cycle in a rather tame manner:
Oh, and here's the cover for the upcoming digital 2025 official "Summer In The City" calendar, exclusively for "Shitballs" and "Shitballs Deluxe" tiers. It will be rolled out around December 20th. Please excuse my attempt at shameless advertising, but it's pretty cool in my humble opinion.
Apologies for straining your eyes with a wall of text once again. One last thing: please consider adding 'Summer In The City' to your wishlist on Steam if you haven't yet. One little push of a button can go a long way. Thank you for your support, everybody. Much love!
