What helped me to get past the dark screen was to set my formats to japanese in the regionsettings
After that I run it as admin with applocale, and boom works

Time goes by WAAAAY too fast in this game. Unless you live in a mansion, it does NOT take 20 to go from one room to another. It really should’ve just been 5 minute increments

Follow that link you need matching locale and time zone, but personally I'm sticking with the fan translation.

well that did not work, the dialogue with the girl is still broken (i was hoping it was just tue intro) so guess i'll go with the fan translation, that one works like a charm
