Keep in mind that DPC ist not a one man show, he has the financial power to hire a team. Working alone on two games needs more time that have a team for one game.
DPC doesn't have a team to help in make content to BaDik. He make all renders, animations, code and so on alone. This is actually something that people discuss in the game thread: he has the money to hire a team but he simply doesn't want it.

Oh no no no no, I wasn't accusing Ocean of blueballer or anything. I was talking about some SG defenders
I mean when someone ask for sex scenes usually some others will respond with the maturity or the "it doesn¡t make sense".
My point is sex makes sense always if you make it so. Ocean can introduce 8 sex scenes in the next update and it would make sense.
He's the one telling the story an he can make it work whenever he wants.
he can add NTR too if he's the one telling the story, you reply doesnt make any sense we are here for the story not for sex

I perfectly understand what you mean, but the fact is that his speed is mainly restricted by his hardware.

The SG Info Table shows how much he has improved. What I really hope is that people who read this table look not only at the development time but also at the content produced.

Ch4 Production has taken a little more than 1 month as compared to Ch3.5, but it has 800+ renders and 5+ Cinematics more than Ch3.5.

Look at DPC, the No. of Renders he can produce in a week is really mind-blowing - thanks to his Godly Hardware. Imagine how fast the SG updates would be if Ocean had the same Hardware. Sadly, he doesn't as of now but he is still upgrading his hardware.

I personally feel that when SG hits steam and all, it will gain more popularity and support :)

And I don't think Ocean will milk his patrons like ICSTOR ;)

Let's have some faith in him!

I know that you defending the author my man but its been a long time!!
me i been free person but you lie to yourself that its ok to wait that long man its not ok to wait that long and your paying!! just let out your rant so that author know that man your game takes long ass to release so that author think that his fans is not a pushover my man!! so your dissapointment you know not bite your fucking ass!!

Do you honestly think Ocean isn't aware that a lot of people are displeased with the release times? Complaining about it here or there won't change anything whether you're a freeloader or a patron won't make a difference. As he said before people are welcome to support the game financially if they can but it's not a necessity. So going to him throwing the "I pay for this game" card won't do u much good, he'd most likely just tell you that you're free to stop supporting the game financially but nothings going to change. I'm sure he, just like every single one of us would love to get faster updates but to ocean it's quality before anything else and quality takes time. Nobody here are pushovers, they respect the art and they understand that a lot goes into this game, that doesn't mean we are happy with things as there are of course but we are mature adults who's not going to throw tentrums over a game most of us aren't even paying for. And those who do pay don't mind either because the money they're supporting the game with is more or less pocket money, they aren't paying hundreds or thousands so it's not a big deal and if it was then they wouldn't be putting money in this game knowing they'll only get 1 update a year.

Really? Three posts talking about the game deleted? Great job. If you can't talk about the development just close the thread already.

Is this comment against some rule that I don't know?

The developer is currently working on Two games alternately.
Why he does that, or whether that makes sense is his business.

The quality he delivers here is top notch.

Yes, it would be totally great if the updates came in shorter intervals, but they do not!

I think that the developer is doing his best considering his effort and his hardware.

Everyone is free to support him financially, or not. There is no compulsion.

However, it should be clear that financial contributions do not give any right to anything.

by the way, you can get through life much more relaxed if you don't take everything so seriously and can also wait for something in peace.

in this sense, always stay relaxed and above all healthy, there are really more important things in life! :sneaky:

It's all perfectly fine that you think it's been too long and be of the opinion that the dev is taking advantage of the situation. That's is your opinion and you are entitled to that. But just because you lack the patience to wait for Ocean's top notch quality, it doesn't mean other people are the same. Who exactly are you to declare that the rest of us that don't mind the wait are lying to ourselves?

Hello,

So, I've got quite a few topics today.

1. Music
2. Still renders & Postwork
3. Left to do
3.1. Gallery update
4. Previews

1. Music
Shall we begin with a topic I never expected to become such a pain in the ass.
As all of you know, I've got some trouble with the music. A few days ago a fellow developer got a DMCA claim from ArtList, which resulted in his game being temporarily taken down from Steam.
This pretty much seals it that I will not get in business with ArtList. (The ones with the 10k$ minimum price.)
I'm still waiting for a reply from a different company.

Even though the situation around the music looks really dark... I won't give up on acquiring the most quality assets for the games.
I took a new approach and I started contacting several Music artists that create high-quality music.
I'm now in personal contact with a few bands and plan on contacting more to buy licenses that are exactly catered to my needs without the constant cloud of worry in the back of my head.
I have already heard back from two bands and I'll keep you guys updated on the situation. This also gives the opportunity to get some Original Soundtracks down the line.
Music specificially made for Summer's Gone. (And WiAB.)
But this is a thingy for way down the line, as it will be really expensive. So let's first hit a few of the not yet reached Patreon goals and then I'll get in contact with a band and negotiate a deal that would make both sides happy.
The only drawback... I have to write quite a few lengthy E-Mails that took hours out of my day... I'm currently talking to a few RL friends and see if someone wants to earn a little on the side as my assistant in contacting and securing licenses.
Still, it's to be expected that many of the Artists/Bands won't accept my proposition as soon as we get to the point about pornographic content...
But I won't give up.

2. Still renders & Postwork
I finished the still renders yesterday... It took a little longer for several reasons:
  • We had a fire at home and one family member was hospitalized due to smoke inhalation. The person is completely fine again. The first thing I did was to save the PCs. But everything turned out well. It looked a lot worse than it actually was.

  • I finished one of the smaller cinematics already. So there are now 2 cinematics left. One smaller and a bigger one.

3. Left to do.
All that is left now is postwork on 2250 renders and postwork on the cinematics.
I already prepared "The Pirates of the Caribbean" movies to guide me through countless hours of postwork.
When this is done, I will start polishing the update... This might create a few more renders, etc.
Then I will implement a "Summary" that will play after every Chapter. This will give a quick flashback to what happened in the last Chapter.

3.1 Gallery Update
SG's gallery was always just a temporary shitty thingy I created during a time when my Work/Life balance was a disaster and I felt like shit.
And creating multiple galleries for 25 characters was just too much. I did it, but not in a way that satisfied me.
I will update the gallery's design over the next two updates. (Chapter 4 and Chapter 4.5)
It will be very similar to WiAB's Design. (Images of the girls might still change.) Gallery.png
I have made a video about WiAB's gallery
You can expect a few differences here and there but I intend to stay close to the design. And obviously, there won't be an NTR button.

4. Previews
I don't have many previews today but here we go. (4k attached).
The occasional Cheeto
Cheeto.jpg
The not so occasional Sonya
Sonya-Monya.jpg
I'm growing kinda tired of the DnD session and I'm glad I did cut it in 1/3 or 1/4. Now that I decided to cut it down, I stopped rushing the Cyberspace Nightmare story.
But it was an amazing experience workwise. It was so different from what I normally do. (Much more demanding.)
I could let my creativity run wild and learned a lot about designing environments.
Environment-Sonya.jpg Sonya-Monya-MC.png

But I'm not going to lie...
The DnD session was quite exhausting to the end. After that first sweet scent of 'so different' vanished, it sometimes became a real chore and I'm looking forward to Chapter 4.5...
When there's just "Real Life".
I'm so excited about the future Chapters.

So, I did say in the Last Log that this might be the last Dev Log before the release.
And it is the last Log with previews but I assume there will be one more Bibi Log just talking about the current progress of postwork and polishing.
We're almost there.

- Ocean

I still don't understand what is this cyberpunk shit
Cyberpunk is one of the more popular scenarios of tabletop RPG, losing only for Dungeons & Dragons or general medieval fantasy.

These days I think the cyberpunk assets are in better quality than fantasy ones, especially considering that he could mix & match contemporary assets with futuristic assets.

I hope this DnD isnt a waste of time and resources like the BΔDIK´s D&G.
Did people really hated the DnD session of Episode 6? I thought it was pretty cool.

I liked it on my first playthrough, but on subsequent playthroughs, it has lost its charm and became tedious, and also it does not add anything to the story or the characters, so mostly a waste of time.
I don't know how it will be in SG, but I hope it will be similar to Eternum than in BaDIK.

Yeah, I played only once, and maybe my memory is compromised.

The only thing that I thought it was bad is that regardless of what you do, Josy always die. Maybe is a spoiler on that game.

On this, maybe the multiple endings will impact the future story.

Ya from the feedback I saw (my own included) in the BaD, the tabletop DnD session was not well-received. Many (again, myself included) considered it a massive waste of development time.

Now, having said that, I'll also add that a big part of that is because that DnD game didn't add anything of note to the present-day story for the game, so if the Summer's Gone tabletop game maybe adds in some meaningful narrative progression, like actual relationship development / dialogue between characters, that will at least be something.
