I ended up replaying the game for at least the 20th time. I can say that it hasn't gotten any worse, everything is as great as before. This time I paid more attention to the background details, it's fun to watch those little scenes that Doomyk mentioned. You have a keen eye bro, I never noticed before that something is going on between a dude in white shorts and a chick in black in the background. You are right, she's probably cheating on her boyfriend with him :)

It's crazy how many characters are wandering around and interacting in the background in the college scenes. You may have seen Jake and Larry playing basketball and that dude in white shorts came up to them and greeted them. Attention to detail in the little things, I like it.

The MC is now less edgy and psychotic than he was before the remake. But with that anime hairstyle, dark hair, dark clothes and with the cold eye and reserved demeanor, he might definitely be mistaken for an emo. If you are Nia :) Still one of the best main characters I've seen so far. Most of them were a horny pantysniffers with no personality.

I still enjoy the dialogue, jokes and plot twists, although I almost remember them verbatim. I've recently reviewed a bunch of fresh updates and new games, while the graphics in general are getting better, the average plot and dialogue remains at the level of porn scripts. A horny female protag in her schoolgirl outfit meets a pizza delivery guy, or a dead dad leaves the MC with no choice but to "take care" of the "landlady" and a couple of "roommates". This is all they can squeeze out of their imagination. Ocean's stories don't compare to the majority of them.

I think I'll stay here for a while.
An interesting observation about Larry. It makes me think that this Casanova(new guy) is a member of the first group and we will play against him. I wonder will it be possible to get some dirt on him and unsettle him right before the game? It’s not necessary to win honestly. That’s why I like Nika's personality. He’s also a cunning serpent.
About dark style and etc i don't agree.Love in black tones does not at all mean belonging to a culture. Leia from Wiab loves dark tones. Can she be called emo?His depression is related to the events of the past, but it seems to me that his personality will always be cold and calm. The direct opposite of Nami. And I like such a personality more than people like Nami, who are too impulsive and tend to speak without thinking.
In general, the idea of his personality is very intriguing. At least in such little things as the fact that he sometimes *forgets* people's names. I damn well understand this move. This is not memory, not idiocy, but an unwillingness to remember NPCs. Those whom he calls worthy, he will remember , the rest are goodbye. I wouldn’t even be surprised if he will call some of them smth like based on the rating that people make here. Professor B, coach C,Blonde A etc.

Yeah, that's why I wrote that people like Nia might mistake him for an emo :) From the first second they met, she labeled him in her head as an emo, and then she never listened to what he said, she just blabbered her nonsense :)

Yes, it's usually either a die-hard who says three words per season, kills his enemies and undresses women with a squint of his eye. Or a natural born seducer who makes any girl wet with his mere presence. AVN writers usually fail to make (or being lazy to make) their MC someone in between these extremes: a person who has some flaws that every human being has, but is smart enough to have his own ambitions and achieve his goals.

I like how Nika built his relationship with Zara. He intimidated her a little, flattered her a bit, gave in to her in some ways, teased her in a certain situations, took advantage of her competitive nature. Eventually, he really worked on his relationship with her because he knew it was important to both him and Noji. And in the end he made a new friend (at least) from a person who was initially hostile to him. It's really cool and I like it when characters act like normal people and don't get what they want with a snap of a finger.

I agree about the shortcomings. Characters who can do everything get boring quickly. It’s much more interesting when the character is wise enough to understand his strengths and weaknesses and learns to cover up his shortcomings
I don’t quite agree about Zara. She is not a friend in a certain sense of the word. I think this formulation would be more suitable for his personality - there are no eternal friends or enemies, there are only interests. And yes, he and Zara have an island of interests one way or another.
But they are very different, as are their thinking. For example, Zara does not want or is unable to understand that her defeat was absolutely deserved. However, in her opinion, such an unclean victory is not a victory.. I think it is Vanessa who is closer to Nika’s thinking.
PS:It would be cool to learn from Aya not only martial arts, but also the ability to read lips. At a minimum, they could copy tests from each other, even at different ends of the classroom.

who do you guys think going to be a lot active on social media in SG? I can't wait for the social media feature to be added in chapter 5!
I think other than the plot driven social media posts (revelations of events that Nika doesn't see firsthand for example, which we've already seen when Aurora was introduced in 4.5), my gut feeling is:

- Nami, because she is extroverted and can't shut up
- Nia, because she probably has a fatalistic attraction to the internet even when she's not working
- Mila, depending on plot direction (afterall, she asks your opinion on a post)
- Nancy, because she seems to be confident,
- Kate, because she seems to have a massive ego
- Ayua, because it's a great way for Ocean to introduce easter eggs from WIAB
- Jeff, because he seems a pretty social person
- Trey, because he's kinda the comic foil so far

I think a massive part of social media will be the side characters, like the twins, the first team, Mario etc to give the bit players a sense of existing without having to develop too detailed a back story. It'll make it seem like there's a world going on beyond the dramas of the immediate social circle, especially if Ocean doesn't force the posts to all be related to the plot or prioritise them by how close the character is to Nika.

It's a great way of expanding the lore without having to go in depth, like all the books in RPGs that you read, always hoping you'll get a +1 stat :sneaky:

Maybe some of the things we see in the background (like that girl cheating on her guy posted earlier) will happen on social media, kinda paralleling what's going on in the main scene.

No,
It seems to me that this character will take on the original role of Mila. Initially, there was Bella’s wrath and Mila’s poison. As the game was remade, some characters became completely different, as I understand it. However, Dev accidentally let slip that we could get *poison* Kate. It seems that little by little the dark paths and storylines will return and I am very happy about this.

Mila's changes in chapter 5? Why ? Just let her look like as in chapter 4.5
Because for some reason people cried like a toddler because she was having big bazongadongas and a big butt with the chapter 1 remake, even when the model doesn't change from old chapter one and someone needs to be the most volumptuous girl in the game, and even other girls comment that she has a brutal body, but for some reason that was absurd, so Oceans decide to change it.

When someone pointing that out, yeah, her figure look kinda ridiculous but i dont mind while playing, also in ch. 4.5 doesnt look that weird

Interesting, because I already see her as a poisonous character, and that's why I think she'll be on social media. She's a gossip (we see her first gossiping) and loves putting people in awkward situations, and seems to be really into herself. I don't see that preventing her from having a major role, just that she is the kind of person I would think uses social media extensively - admittedly, every playthrough I end up kissing Bella, so I haven't seen the alternative scenes

By the way, I, who is planing to follow Summer’s path only, (if possible and she is alive), sincerely hope that the Summer's parent who said that garbage is dead. I’ll explain why. The pain that this pathetic creature caused is hundreds of times worse than physical pain.It was a blow to the ego. This pain is terrible at any age, I’m already silent about the child.
If he/she is alive, then in order not to get Nika's hands too dirty, I sincerely hope that karma also hit him/her Ego.For example, cheating(this is the pain of the ego) or a similar ego's pain, so that it would be enough for Nika to rub the wound(bash to bash ego pain), like Bella opened Brenda’s wound.
Otherwise, even 10 Holgersons deserve destruction less than that creation. And yes, a relationship with Summer does not mean forgiveness that bitch. But after equal pain,it is wise not to forgive, no, just to feel indifference.

Mila's boobs in chapter 5 will be smaller. I won't be surprised if some people will start complaining because they are too small now since size difference will be quite large.
The rework is an improvement, but frankly there are several girls who would benefit from a similar change. There are multiple reasons I am on a Nami path, but her normal body shape is one of them.

I have seen phone/social media apps done really well in very few VNs. Whether done well or horribly, I feel that they are mostly time wasters (like real life). Yes, they can be used to relay a lot of information (depth) and plot reveals without working hard on the story. They can show aspects of a character's personality that would otherwise have to come out in exposition. But mostly, it requires the attention to be drawn from the story and action to focus on using a phone app. I personally do not enjoy that.

VNs can be a neat way to illustrate real life and dramatically demonstrate aspects of pop culture. But they can also be an escape from that. Like having an MC that we all wish we could be. The guy who walks in the room and, despite being damaged or broken, has women dropping their panties without blinking an eye. That can be overdone and over-the-top. But there is a fantastical aspect of it that most of us wish we could have at least once in our lives (or a flashback to a memory of the one time it was like that). Escape from the reality of the political warfare of dating. Or escape from the social media flood that can be smothering.

My questions regarding adding phone apps are does it add critical functions to the story? Does it enhance the story? Or does it serve as a time suck and just fill in gaps that hide where the story should be taking place?

Love your post Nurikabe but I will say in defense of the phone that I feel like it does add some realism and value since, even IRL, we all use phones when communicating with friends, potential dates, etc. I think in Being A DIK the phone is done pretty well. In Race of Life the phone isn't quite as well implemented, but I like it - it can add quick communication bits that don't take long to relay event info, etc. or a quick note to someone, be it a friend or LI, and also give the player a choice to text a potential LI if desired to ask her out on a date or say 'i miss you', etc. stuff like that which can be tied in to triggers for certain events, or to add or remove points with an LI, etc.

Kate's character was created with only one purpose - a trap for MC on Bella's ideal path. Kate dreams of taking revenge on Bella for the beating at school (and maybe not only the beating) and for this she wants to use MC. Her goal is to seduce MC and then dump him and tell everyone to hurt Bella (Ocean has already spoiled this in discord). If MC is not in Bella's path, then Kate will not show interest in MC, we will see this in the final scene of Ch3.5 if we don't kiss Bella:(.

(y) Damn reaction limit. Sounds reasonable. It's a shame though, Mila mentioned that she knew Kate from school and they were and are kind of friends.

You mean when she ignored the MC by sitting right on his face while wearing a skirt? :ROFLMAO:

I've played both the kiss and not kiss Bella routes.

The locker room plays out Very differently - no Bella comes to the rescue.

While you are waiting for the CH 5 Beta to drop, I Highly recommend going to an old save and trying the no kiss Bella route.

The ripples of this will hit the school next week and I believe that a certain Nasty reporter will become more involved...

Cheers!! :coffee:
