I've alarmingly seen Vic and Nami wearing black bikini tops in steam's preview pics where they are topless in ch. 4.5. I just don't like it... :(:(:(:(
Okay, as long as you're not joking, the definition of eroticism varies a lot... bikinis, monokinis (microkinis) once scare a lot of people...
Interesting that WIAB continues the way it is...thanks for info sorco2003.

You mean this pic of Nami? It's in the game. So is the pic of Niko carrying Vic back from the bathroom at night, she's not topless but wearing a black bra.

This is where you are wrong. This is not my definition, but a television standard.
Ok, but it's still irrelevant, as the television standard doesn't issue the license in question to Ocean, so my point remains.

Or, to paraphrase someone, this is where you are wrong.

so you are telling me an adult VN will be censored or have the lewd content removed for what reason is making some of its fans worried?
Not that big of a deal imo.

Up till now this has been a TVN (teenage VN) at best. Its an AVN w/o the A.

Removing a floppy penis and bare titty or two doesn't change that.

This has been a normal VN from the start, the nudity is there just for the coomer bux. If Ocean wants to remove it, it's his prerogative, but I don't think his wallet is gonna like the result

Terms and conditions on subs get updated. Rates get updated, rents go up. There are so many contacts that are indexed, or have clauses. Law is grey when it comes to civil issues, not black and white. Someone posted some examples of some of the terms. It's literally a minefield when it comes to creative industries. I'd like to see how you'd go about prosecuting a company in a different country for changing the terms on you, you know like social media does pretty much every update. Some of these companies know it is simply too hard for small businesses to get legal representation internationally.
Subscription terms can only be renewed after the contract expires. If it is updated during the validity of the contract, then they check whether you are an idiot from whom you can get money or not. A smart person will require a recalculation. It's an old trick. Prices in stores can change at any time; they are not fixed. But if you ordered an item and its price changed during delivery, then the price will remain the one that was indicated when ordering in the contract. Do you understand the difference?

p.s. I read the comments and not only yours, it seems that I am talking with children whose parents provide for them, but they themselves do not know anything about adult life.

This is just a definition of the genre, not a standard. In general, there is usually a restriction on genres, but you are right, there can be any restriction in the contract. Why doesn't Ocean talk about him then? It turns out that Ocean knew about this all these years and remained silent. This suggests that he initially did not care about this music since it had restrictions, because SG will receive porn scenes in future updates.

You weren't around when Ocean talked about that music licensing stuff before, were you?

All the comments have been explaining this to you, even providing actual terms. You think the world is made of ironclad legal arguments - law courts would not exist if everyone had ironclad terms that couldn't be twisted or altered. Nothing could change. The majority of legal cases are people arguing over terms and their interpretation. Most licenses have an escape clause that anything determined to be a breach results in immediate revocation of the license.

But you've missed the point, again on purpose in your crusade against ....what? I don't even know what you're actually trying to prove, and at this point, you're just enjoying arguing. I'm sure there are ganes for you if that's your thing.

Ocean had a yearly license; when it was time to renew, they changed the terms (from how I understood the dev logs). It doesn't matter what you, a stranger think - it is only what the rights holders decide that matters, and how much pain they can cause Ocean. Legal issues only come into play when the contact involved sums of money worth hiring legal experts to fight. You saying it doesn't happen - well, it's happened. Terms have been updated, or reinterpeted/clarified. Ocean either ditches the music or ditches the NSFW content for Season 1. Your opinion is pretty irrelevant, as is mine; the rights holders have the balance of power and can blueball Ocean. It's that simple.

As far as an internet keyboard warrior stranger calling me a child goes, I wish I could go back to a more innocent time.

You can sue as much as you like until you run out of money to pay compensation. In the contract law we are talking about, there are no loopholes that would not be spelled out in the contract. But why did you start this argument?

This is what we were talking about... and here many incomprehensible situations arise.
Why does Ocean act like he's sorry to lose his music? He deliberately agreed to sign this agreement and at the moment of signing he abandoned these songs. Moreover, he previously said that there will be porn scenes in the game. This means that this music will not be in SG in any case. If this music doesn’t exist, then what’s the point of deleting the footage? And why didn’t he warn the people who were giving him money in advance? I think this is a very ugly act on his part.

Have you seen the contracts that these companies offer? You're building this whole "no loopholes" argument that just isn't true. Go do some research about music for sync licenses at the low cost tiers with music from artists starting out. Compare that to sound effects licenses, stock footage licenses etc. They are all simple licenses, and once the license holder sees what they're used for they quickly try to stop it for purposes they don't like. It is not so much loopholes as they change their mind because they didn't imagine it being used in certain ways. The creator starts out thinking any exposure is good, and once they have exposure, they start putting restrictions on usage that might damage their brand. Bait and switch is also common.

Contract law in which jurisdiction? Do you think Ocean will pay for flights and accomodation to the US to sort out contracts that are around $1000? Would you? You don't seem to understand that when the amount is small, it is not worth pursuing remediation.

No, Ocean signed a contract, and when he went to extend the subscription, he found they wouldn't unless he changed. Again, you try to blame Ocean for the whole situation and protect the company. He signed the agreement, thinking it was acceptable, and the rightsholders refused to renew unless he met their new terms.

There will be porn scenes in season two, which will be a separate standalone game. Licenses for season one and season two have no relation to each other. One reason to do this is that he can keep the music in season one which he spent time scoring, like has been said in this circular argument many times by many people. Ocean doesn't want to waste time finding new music, he'd rather tone down the lewd content in season one, sign off, get steam released and move on. The music will be in SG Season One, that is why the edits are being made. Try rereading all of the dev logs. It's pretty clear.

This is being pragmatic so he can deliver a finished season one, so he can go forward and continue making the rest of the game. Or do you want him to do a another rework?

As far as ugly goes, his patreons determine what they pay. He has been clear about his reasons. I'd say a large number are in for the long haul and don't care about these particular scenes as much as they care about the story being worked on. Patreon =/= pornhound who can only be satisfied by images of Nika's flaccid pee pee. I mean, really, this is such a small thing to be worried about. Season 2 is standalone and Ocean has specifically mentioned he is buying permanent licenses at a higher cost for it so this can't happen again.

Anyway, this particular train of thought is boring. It's only a couple of days, and this thread will have everyone posting the image changes ad we can see what a small deal it really is.

When one person tries to disagree with almost everyone else on this thread, in spite of many attempts to reason with said individual, just put that alternate id on mute - ignore - and move on. I did and you would be surprised how much hot air left the building.

At this point, we should just be focused on the new release of Summers Gone this week.

We are getting more of a great AVN, with new music and animations - and for those who have not opted to, or been able to, support Ocean as a paying supporter, it is free here.

I'll add - whether you can support Ocean with $ or not, if you have Steam, please consider wishlisting him on Steam - it is free and the more of us that do this, the better positioned SG is when it is released on Steam.

Cheers to a great week!! :coffee:

The songwriter doesn't want to be associated with porn. Will he want to renew Ocean's license when there's porn in Season 2? I doubt it.
The license expires, so what then? It will not be possible to extend it and all music will have to be deleted. It would be better if the game had no music at all; you can add it whenever you find it without restrictions.

Here you are right, I agree with you. But there’s a big question about the fans. I have already read several options about how they want to thank Ocean for the deleted footage on Steam. If they do it will be a lot of fun. I'll even make popcorn just for this.

I'm assuming that he won't use the same music provider for season 2, so that music will only be associated with season 1.

It warms my heart to see that you have begun to embrace the Tao. :ROFLMAO:
You won't believe how nice this thread looks after you've put on ignore a few of the most annoying dudes.
[mumbles] except for you and BobTheDuck, you guys still seem to find your weird fun in arguing and quoting obvious trolls, which constantly brings them back to life from the bottom of the ignore list. :HideThePain:

Dunno, if some dude with a hidden profile and a few similar messages (yeah, the search spell negates the hidden profile effect), bursts into the game's thread with a template "It's been one/two/three years, but there's still no porn/ntr/bbc gangbangs/copro in this game, the dev is milker, the game is abandoned, we all gonna die." And you know for sure that the game is alive, the dev regularly reports on progress, attaches previews, communicates with people, updates are coming out with the content which has been anounced in the dev logs. Then what's your excuse for not putting them on ignore immediately instead of trying to convince them of something they don't even want to listen to? :HideThePain:
