I decompiled the first version to hit here and at the very least the renders are there (unlike the ones from the Nami jacuzzi scene). Not sure if they trigger during playthrough though since I've never played it.

In my Friday steam build the whole damn scene was cut (along with many others I mentioned but stopped reporting once the quantity got so high). Cheeto nipples are the devil's playground and we can't have none of that apparently.

Seriously, though, like you said, seems he's moving to make this more general-audience friendly to possibly broaden his market. I wonder if this will start to kill his appeal here on this site. Most folks here like the Cheeto-nipples, or their equivalent.

Definitely sounds like it's moving in a direction I'm not interested in.

ok well where is the patreon update i don't see it on patreon or this platform and it was said to come the 13th of may so whats up? and in my understanding steam version is just like patreon version how is that fair to the patreons ? as i said before ocean is looking for double payment. as with many deveolpers he cares about money not fans. you as a deveolper sould care about your reputation and if your fans can't take you for your word, then what good are you to them. yes you will have the loyalty of your die hard fans that will go through fire for you but those that can't trust your word then they will see it as disrespect. and that you only care about their money, not their opinion of you.

I'm still at a loss as to how the 2 year sanitation for it to now be on Steam is for monetary purposes. That doesn't hold any merit... boobies gain eyeball count, they don't detract from it. Sex sells.... not the opposite, been that way forever. So I can't see "sanitation for a two year steam prep" being the reason tbh.

Pretty sure it was mentioned here that he kowtowed to music license holders. He got rid of some of the most adult content in order to keep the music licenses he had purchased. That and the rating. He was aiming at a lower age rating on Steam so that he could sell the game to a wider audience.

How much of it is true, I'm not sure. Just parroting what I read here.

A lot of people defend the steam release because that means there won't be anymore remakes or so they say but what happens in 5 years when season 2 is ready to be released on steam but steam has changed most of their policies including their nudity policy. What's going to happen then? Will ocean completely cut every nude scene in the game to keep it on steam? Probably.

Well... not so much. Steam is one of (and always has been) the most lenient of distribution platforms. Their entire business is built on that philosophy tbh. But, yes, anything can happen these days so I'll give you that... no doubt there. We've all seen things done IRL the past couple of years that have made all our jaws drop in disbelief.

well i believe every AVN gamer that loves lewd content sould buy all the AVNs they can before the PC police comes to steam and we all will only get VNs with no nudes or sex, like you said patreon is already to the point of banning certain AVNs how much longer will steam become that way, i say very soon if trends progress the way they have in the last couple years.

When you put it like that yeah I get more of what you mean or why people would say something isn't an AVN cause boobs is the most popular genre of AVN. Probably some out there but rare for a AVN to be like Dexter or Game of Thrones without the lewds. I think I read to much into the "A" with my opinion when I see someone the says X isn't an AVN but I can see it clear as day from my point of view. Especially cause I dont play for lewds and see them as a nice bonus or reward I have bit of a skewed view of what an AVN is to most people.

I do still think Summer's Gone is far from not being considered an AVN personally since there is dark themes , tone and some nudity but that's just my take.

To be fair, it's not like Steam hasn't banned games for pretty bogus reasons if they had risque or lewd content, and even some cases where the games didn't at all. Granted, the main issue, at least in many of these cases, it was because the developers or publishers didn't want the Adult Only tag which would limit visibility and block certain companies from purchasing so refused to add it to their game submission for review. As long as Ocean doesn't try to avoid the Adult Only tag, things should be fine.

i believe by the time ocean fully releases season 2 to steam with nudes and sex and all that jazz and i'm saying that when summers gone season 2 is completely done just like season 1 which will be serveral years from now like 5 years probaly, steam will have changed it's views on nudes and sex in AVNs because patreon is just the beginning of the PC police on platforms for AVNs. thats just my opinion on how things are changing in the gaming world the PC community is powerful. you can't have certain words in games now and incest and it's only beginning.

The complaints now are the same as they started two years ago... exactly the same, so those aren't a sudden action either. This isn't about a few nipples or scenes here and there in this one "update". If that's your stance/view then you are missing the whole point imo (again imo).

Also, there's a massive difference in a dev that has not made content yet that fans are waiting for and content that was there and slowly all stripped over the course of two years. So, if the argument being made is that particular content will come later then it holds no water in that bucket full of holes... the content (to a massive degree) was already there. That's difference and one of the main reasons of complaints/objections.

Almost every AAA AVN on this site with very risque (questionable) lewd content is on Steam with zero issue, making gobs of monetary gain which Steam gets a cut of. You know this, right? I still don't believe this has anything to do with Steam at all... but that's opinion, I'm just expressing it.
