I'll refrain from speaking about WiAB because, like I said, it's not really my thing. Story has barely taken off and there isn't anything going on that peaks my interest.

As for SG, I like what little there is of the old game still in there. Before the "wallow in self pity" MC. Before the panic attacks. I like the world, some of the characters and the atmosphere and mood of the game. I like the mystery behind Summer's disappearance. I used to LOVE the bond between Nami and the MC. I used to love the way the story was told, through the eyes of a detached and seemingly uncaring MC before Ocean made him weak and frail and on the verge of mental collapse. I love what little is still there of a grown up story with intrigue and crime and powerful families with old secrets.

That's one of the reasons I praised the book club scene so much. Single best moment in the game since fucking chapter 3. Because it grew the world so much and exposed little tidbits of what I want to see. But dragging all of this down is a mountain of illogical shit that makes no sense. Which doesn't surprise me. It's hard to have a nice flow and continuity when you rework the game so much. Especially when those reworks tone down the emotional weight of the game.

Interesting, for me the bookclub is the thing i dislike more in the game. I mean it was okay, but if i have to compare the bookclub with other scenes then for me is the worst (i was okay with it anyway, just clarifying)

I find it contradictory with his behaviour in the other chapters, somehow i see it like that. I think is the change in just one chapter from being more reserve and without interest in girls to a super "chad" mode with a real capacity to charm milfs.

What i loved in the bookclub was the panick attack, i liked so much the way Ocean turn off the light of the scene and the scene passed from a lightly sitation to a depressive as fuck one.

Oh yes the DnD, it's really quite unnecessary. But well if I had to think of any future activity I would like to see, it would be the fighting lessons offered by ayua to nika.

If you sit with Sasha at the bookclub, you got an insight into her mind for the first time as she explained what she felt the book meant metaphorically, to her. I liked that part because, though brief, it was the first time we got to know her a little better. Up until then she was always just quietly watching and staring at Nika without much direct interaction (besides the forced stretch pairing)

Edit: I don't know how you all interpreted what she said, or how it was meant to be taken by Ocean, but to me it felt like part of her feels like a prisoner trapped in the social construct she was born into and part of her wants to break free from it)

At least to me it feels clear that she doesn't like being watched or guarded all of the time, but we've only scratched the surface and know so little about her (except that she carries around medication often used for PTSD/OCD/depression among some other things)

Nami is Nika’s conscience, he'd have a harder time fitting in without her but he’d pull through and make friends at ZPR. He comes off as weird, especially in the start when he‘s down in the dumps, but people are attracted to him for his other qualities, which are becoming more evident as the game goes on and his mental health improves.
Nami pushed him to join the basketball but he would join nonetheless. Trey appreached him when he was looking at the tryouts poster. From there he’d meet Jeff with or without Nami, go to the gym with him and find the inspiration to join the basketball team and pursue his passion.
Nami is Nika’s #1 supporter, he’d be worse off if she wasn’t there for him but he would make it through.

Yeah, I am not so sure when I look at the college interactions on the first day. He would've met Jeff and co in the auditorium, but there would be no Nami there advocating for him (especially re: basketball) in front of the others, providing a crutch, and helping him avoid a panic attack by her mere presence. I doubt Nika would've joined the posse on the sports field without Nami being there. As it was, Nika bailed on new people whenever he could on that first day and I think he would have left the college the moment he found out attendance wasn't compulsory during the tour, without really spending time interacting with anyone else.

Those interactions with others on the first day gave Nika a very small group of people (besides Nami) that could more easily interact with on subsequent days. And he didn't just fall back into his old antisocial High School behavior.
