For.me the reason that Robin is so endearing is that she is a rather normal girl where almost everyone else has some pointed trait. Nami is quirk, Sacha is mysterious, Bella is a bich, Zara is competetive Nia is a camgirl with lack of social queues, and not only her personalitie is normal her looks also are, in a town where sizes as Milla and Vic are not uncommon her features are diferencial. In short in a place where almost everyone is fucked up in the head and a super model Robin is refreshment of normality

This would make sense if he was making a dating sim game, but he's not. Each woman in the game has her own role in the entire story, and Marla was there literally from the first minute. She seems to have some kind of important role, so I think he won't drop her character just to cater a few simps.
And, frankly, have you seen the previews from the latest devlog? A hot MILF teacher won't hurt any lewd VN.
As for the simps, who cares about them. One fairly famous developer put an old stripper hag in their game and added more lewds for her than for much better side girls. Simps will suck it up anyway

Although I personally don't like Marla, you can bet your dick and balls that there are enough people who prefer her as a LI. You shouldn't really try to act as the voice of many when you have no signed mandate to do so. People have different and sometimes weird tastes that you won't be able to understand even if you tried. You have your own, so talk for yourself.

I'd personally prefer Robin or Maja or Ayua and I will definitely stay away from Marla, but I know that there are people who prefer her as a LI and I'm not the one to dismiss these people just for having different preferences of women.

I tried to remember any good scene with her, but nothing came to mind, she is always lost in the background against the other characters and nothing really is known about her, except that she put Vic into the wheelchair, goes to Amber for therapy and wants joint therapy session with the MC.

But wait until Ocean does his voodoo on Marla. Like he did it on Zara and suddenly, most of the shouting about another arrogant bitch, worse than Bella, quieted down, but a bunch of newly minted Zara simps appeared singing praises to her.

I don't doubt about Ocean capacity to turn hated characters to interesting ones, but he will need to make a lot of "magic" in this one. Maybe that will work for some people but I doubt it will for most. Because most have clearly defined preferences and taste. I've said it before there is nothing on God's green Earth Ocean can possibly do, no magic or voodoo, will EVER make me go for the majority of the characters in this game.

That means no Marla, no Karen, no Mila, no Vic, no Zara, no Nia, no Nadia, no Amber, no Hill, no Sonya, no Harrison, no Cindy, no Kate, etc.. for me, EVER! They just aren't my thing no matter how appealing and endearing Ocean makes them in the future.

Shit...this post made me realize that there are actually 14 characters I would lewd. More than I thought... But I would only consider 6 of them as possible LI's in my playthroughs.

To be honest, I don't remember if Maya was ever intended to be LI, but here's what Deleted Member wrote a year ago when he finished the script.

There is no "Marla over Maja", in the same way as there is no "Bella over Maja."

Maja's role in the game just isn't the one of an LI. (She's lewdable, but doesn't get a happily ever after ending with the MC.)
The MC isn't a blank hull that is compatible with every character beyond a fling/FWB.

And the most important variable is Victoria.
Maja would ALWAYS choose Victoria over the MC.

And it doesn't matter if the player likes Victoria or not.
Victoria likes the MC, and Victoria's feelings and well-being are what's important to Maja.


Marla's role doesn't come from being stunning on the outside. She isn't a classy porn trope "Milf."
She's what you'd find under the category "Mature".

And more important, looking good doesn't make you an LI.
The story behind the person determines if you get to be one.
