It's so sad and frustrating, that you have to clear this VN from your memory after playing it. It leaves you with the same empty feeling after the finale of your favorite tv-series. It's so fucking good. I wish i could do what Cartman did and freeze myself. Waiting is too painful and i'm already doing that with WIAB

i´m just role playing myself into suppressing my memories as the reason why i can not remember what happened to Summer after the cabin! although Namy did mention we being in the hospital the day after! and ofc whats up with scargirl Sasha? feels like i have seen her before!
babies when not touched from an early age develop serious menthal problems and humans being social animals trauma and cutting ties can lead to zero impulse control! as someone said there was that option how worse can it be?
although in this situation that crazy uncontrolled bitch almost killed victoria and instead of taking responsability and trying to help Vic broke down and started to find excuses! for those who have lost loved ones to irresponsability that is disgusting and revolting no matter how jaded you are, the bitch pulled the gun after she fucked up, the MC with zero fucks given risked suicide by "cop" the faillure and the fact she had just hurt someone inocent took it from there!

i wonder if my mc lashed out at summer and "ruined her"? like he lashed out at the world and pulled the trigger, a spur of the moment no fucks given zero impulse control!
anyway atm i got 1 blind save one dark path and one light path!
all DOM had enough of the sub crap until i was 10 always being passed around from mother to grandmothers to older sisters to Aunts and already had more then enough in 3 of my last 8 jobs where i worked for females, sexism at work does not affect only females but if you´re a male you have no recourse except tell her off and getting fired after some bullshit excuse!
last one was funny, her excuse to get my boss to fire me was that we had... married... that weird situation where you make 5 times more then your hierarchical superior you marry her and then she gets you fired and once you´re out of money she loves you no more... oh gawd saves from the goody goody!

Don't take it personally. Facepalms on this thread are most times either expressions of the great fondness most of us hereabouts have towards Summer's Gone as a hugely engaging work of art and masterpiece we laud, or commiserations offered to someone unaware of the sheer brilliance and quality of this particular visual novel, quite likely because they haven't been fortunate enough to experience it yet. (Either way not bad things so don't sweat it.) Thing is in Summer's Gone sex IS destined to play a role later in the lives of some of the characters, an important role no doubt, but remain subordinate to the evolving story rather than overriding and dominating it, as is the case with most material anywhere and everywhere else on this very site. Summer's Gone is a superior adult story which WILL include sex, as and when justified by the plot, but isn't a story primarily ABOUT sex. That's the way I currently see it anyway, but it's only a personal hope and opinion.
My advice would be to give it a go and make up your own mind.
(Then maybe you'll be facepalming somebody, on this very thread, at some point in the future!)

Actually you know what, I was thinking about this after my initial response. And I realized, its not just the detachment that explains that first scene. Literally the first thing we learn about MC via the dream opening is that both Summer and MC loved to torture insects.
It gets glossed over but thats the sort of sign you look out for in case the kids are potential nutjobs. There's an inherent 'play with lives' aspect to the MC. (Which also ties into how he manipulates people.) Now pair that with ptsd-MC's detachment and lack of empathy and his apathy. Totally makes sense to me.
This is exactly what I am going for.
A story primarily focused on the characters and the overall surroundings but not driven by sex.
In the later stages, the game is going to have plenty of sex and optional fetishes but it is important to me that there is a believable reason for why the characters are bonding.
And that not every romance feels like the same just with a different skin.
Fuck fests are certainly not my cup of tea. You will never need to worry about the game becoming one.
I like girls that are more than just fuck-props and this is also why I said that a harem will never be a part of the game. It would effectively destroy all the character buildup and independence.
(Not even mentioning how out of character it would be for some of them.)

And this will also be displayed in future sex scenes. It's not just some simple thrusting with some cringy dirty talk.
I want it to be a work of art. Not just from the visual standpoint but also from the POV of the involved.
I want the scenes to radiate passion and desire.
That the scenes really feel like you just witnessed a major event in their lives... two people being in a very vulnerable state finally opening up to each other.
I am also currently looking for some advanced English writing courses in order to achieve the level of "art" I am striving for.

Please, just dont take away the whole "thrusting with dirty sex talk" thing...I can endure (almost) anything, yet overly artistic sex scenes with no dirty talk and humping, would be my end there surely...

Just played the game today. Man, great first 3 chapters. Then I found out how long it took to get those 3 Chapters out and now I'm sad again.

The problems causing the delays got sorted out, so we should be getting updates more quickly now. The goal is smaller sized updates every 3-4 months roughly, iirc.Just played the game today. Man, great first 3 chapters. Then I found out how long it took to get those 3 Chapters out and now I'm sad again.

I was under the impression that the applied to both games. Since he's got one computer for each game now, working on both side by side.

yeah, what Oceanlab said is that it's 3-4 months per update for both games. Since he now has two computers like you said. So any work towards WiAB shouldn't affect an update for Summer's Gone.

this is already one of the answers I was looking for....
i've played a couple of runs of this game, now i'm thinking if and how to play some more. the rating is definitely positive. it's a pity for a game that focuses so much on the story and involvement that it starts with a scene bordering on WTF (not the dream, but the car crash with the armed teacher..), but after this initial slip there is a very good characterization (of course in development) with many interactions between the different characters, and not only between Mc and the girls.
in the end it was not a burden the absence of sex for this first part of the journey, instead it is not easy to identify with the protagonist for his traumatic load that makes him objectively an asshole almost every time.
very curious about future developments, although we see dark clouds, for virtually all LIs, on the horizon ...
is it correct to assume that the LIs will be the 5 present in the gallery or is this a situation yet to be defined?

It might be a bit slower while he reworks WIAB however. I can see that taking a bit more focus than just standard updates. Personally I'm hoping for something around May/June (for either game) but I'm willing to be patient either way.
