I have to hand it to Ocean, because I think he is a "master" of subtle and emotive facial expressions, and original Bella's facial expressions conveyed more to me about her psychological state than the dialogue texts.

I liked the original Bella inasmuch as she was so obviously broken (much more so than now) and I would've enjoyed a path where the MC and Bella helped each other back from the edge of the abyss. With the original Bella, it really was the edge of an abyss, not just teen angst and anger (which is what her emotive state feels like to me now). Of course, the flip side of that is the originally intended dark paths, especially if the MC encouraged Bella's inner psycho. Such paths might have put me off the game.

With the original Vic, I always wondered if her bumping into the MC before the accident was coincidental, or if she had been stalking him without his knowledge (not that anything in the game really supported that, other than Vic's odd behavior toward the MC - a total stranger).

I totally agree with you about the original MC. There were choices there for him to be a complete and insufferable asshole. That should've caused everyone outside of his family (and possibly Bella) to shun him, not gravitate toward him.
I think that now Ocean has a understand of facial expression, original SG and WiaB had some monstrous facial expressions. Vic, Bella, Summer all had the most creepy smiles. Is not that I exactly dislike the old version, I have said, it had its charm but I prefer the rework. For the rest I agree, old Bella was on another level of unhinge and maybe the path to light would be more rewarding but new Bella as a childishness that I like more. About Vic would not be surprised in the slightness, she gave much of a stalker vibes.

This is on the rework ? Why would you do such thing ? New Vic is pure sweetness

All I'm gonna say is...all this Vic gangbang hating had better fecking stop.....

Or...

And no...I don't mean your friends in the winnebago rented house.
I am only hating Old Vic, New Vic I adore. With speak much of how much Ocean evolved as a writer, I had all preconceptions about her as possible but she just won me over in 4.5. Love new Vic, old Vic still was a fuel of nightmares.

Reading posts like this saddens me quite a bit and I could not possibly disagree more. I'd trade everything the game is today for half of what it used to be. I'll take that cringe edginess over the bland, illogical teen drama bullcrap that it has turned into

But I respect ya'lls opinions. Kinda

And old chubby cripple > new chubby cripple! The same way as old Mila > new Mila and old Nojiko "Cyrus" > new Nojiko "WhateverTheFuckHerNameIsNow". Deal with it
I somewhat agree, I have some heavy criticism of S1 and I agree that it has a teen drama feel to it but I can't say that I like more the original version. There are aspect of it that I think I do, have not played pre chapter 3 to really judge, it had a emotional rawness that I think lacks a bit on the rework, like things are too much thought through at times. But I did not felt like the OG version was really dark, it felt more like what a teenager thought a dark story should be, like it was trying to hard to be serious that became ridiculous in its own way.

That is not to say that I don't find anything cringe or ridiculous in the final version. I do. But paradoxically I find this story, with all its teenage drama, more mature than the original with its darker themes. I think that if you played pre chapter 3 you might even come to agree with me a bit more, or not.

I like all the new models, with maybe the exception of Mila. I find that she has one of the most beautiful faces in the game and I don't dislike her new body but I think I like more the old version as well.

This is the misconception I constantly run into whenever I mention the older version of the game. Everyone thinks I mean the earlist drafts of the game with the fucked up older Summer, the dolphin shit and Vic flying in the air after being run over, when I really mean the 3.0 and 3.5 versions of Summer's Gone. The story that was established right before the retroactive reworks started.

The seriously cringe and juvenile moments were almost all gone by that point. And like you said it's hard to ignore how much more emotionally charged and poignant the game was back then compared to this more bland version. I had like a 4 or five long paragraph discussion with LadyFortuna back then about the Bella fight scene alone. And about how this new version is almost empty and souless when it used to be so raw.

It fucking saddens me that I no longer feel anything when playing SG. That's why I keep crying about it here so much. It's because the game actually meant something to me at some point. Now it's just like every other slop of an AVN that gets produced. Looks great, mediocre taste. Like an incredibly beautiful red apple on the outside that's flavorless and mushy when you bite into it.

:(

EDIT: But hey, fuck it! Pigs gotta eat! Slop or gourmet. Can't wait for the next release!!! :HideThePain:

To be completely frank I don't even know what version of SG is my favorite, I started playing around ch2 I believe and was not very impressed with it. What really sold me on it was the Bella lockeroom scene, remember having finished and thought: " This is really something". I think this was 3.0 or 3.5. That would probably be it for me as well. But if I remember correctly the story already was a bit disjointed as it started really grimm and them the MC changed from one update to another, and the rework was to fix that but we ended up with a Frankenstein S1 either way.

I can see from where you are coming from and I agree, I have many problems with S1 I guess that the difference is that I still see the potential to it be one incredible story. I think that Ocean really is cooking something worthy to be invested into, I see more as Ocean evolving as a writer, when he needs to hit he really does, I absolutely love the Race of Impossible Odds scene is just... great. Bella arriving at the end of 4.5. I don't think that it now is bland. But maybe not even for a fault of his own the end result is flawed to someone who had read from the beginning, too much balls in the air to jungle at once I think. I really think that Ocean can delivered.

More the son he had with his previous wife, but now that she is dead and Ocean has remarried, his existence has been forgotten in favor of the new and favorite baby
I think the more fair analogy wold be that WiaB is the elder child of parents that are not experienced enough, the mother drink the whole pregnancy, the father was more concerned in fucking the nanny and the child raised it self by eating dirt and watching TV. But along the way the parents got another baby and figured their shit out, the young one still had some shit but not nearly as much, was easier to care off. Meanwhile the old one was sent away to the farm of the grandparents for a couple of years and the parents are trying to get it right now, but just too much history, they are doing a good job but is more easier to start right than to get right half way through.
