Very much agree. However, it is not, in my opinion, the better game. At the moment at least.I think summer' gone has better story...

The best story is the one that gets an update first.I think summer' gone has better story...
At last you recognize the greatness of PP!The best story is the one that gets an update first.
Are you trying to give Nasc a nervous breakdown Doctor? We always have WiaB....

Sure, but it depends on the meaning of PP, it's so ambiguous. And remember, once you clarify, I'll report you for being off-topic.At last you recognize the greatness of PP!
To be completely frank I don't even know what version of SG is my favorite, I started playing around ch2 I believe and was not very impressed with it. What really sold me on it was the Bella lockeroom scene, remember having finished and thought: " This is really something". I think this was 3.0 or 3.5. That would probably be it for me as well. But if I remember correctly the story already was a bit disjointed as it started really grimm and them the MC changed from one update to another, and the rework was to fix that but we ended up with a Frankenstein S1 either way. This is the misconception I constantly run into whenever I mention the older version of the game. Everyone thinks I mean the earlist drafts of the game with the fucked up older Summer, the dolphin shit and Vic flying in the air after being run over, when I really mean the 3.0 and 3.5 versions of Summer's Gone. The story that was established right before the retroactive reworks started.
The seriously cringe and juvenile moments were almost all gone by that point. And like you said it's hard to ignore how much more emotionally charged and poignant the game was back then compared to this more bland version. I had like a 4 or five long paragraph discussion with LadyFortuna back then about the Bella fight scene alone. And about how this new version is almost empty and souless when it used to be so raw.
It fucking saddens me that I no longer feel anything when playing SG. That's why I keep crying about it here so much. It's because the game actually meant something to me at some point. Now it's just like every other slop of an AVN that gets produced. Looks great, mediocre taste. Like an incredibly beautiful red apple on the outside that's flavorless and mushy when you bite into it.
EDIT: But hey, fuck it! Pigs gotta eat! Slop or gourmet. Can't wait for the next release!!!
Funny how there was a time I'd resent Ocean for the time he "wasted" developing WiAB instead of SG... How the turntablesAre you trying to give Nasc a nervous breakdown Doctor?
I think the more fair analogy wold be that WiaB is the elder child of parents that are not experienced enough, the mother drink the whole pregnancy, the father was more concerned in fucking the nanny and the child raised it self by eating dirt and watching TV. But along the way the parents got another baby and figured their shit out, the young one still had some shit but not nearly as much, was easier to care off. Meanwhile the old one was sent away to the farm of the grandparents for a couple of years and the parents are trying to get it right now, but just too much history, they are doing a good job but is more easier to start right than to get right half way through.More the son he had with his previous wife, but now that she is dead and Ocean has remarried, his existence has been forgotten in favor of the new and favorite baby
I certainly agree with you on Bella. Back then there was meaning to her psychological trauma, conveyed in the fight scene, Amber's warning to the MC on the drive home, and Ayua's confrontation with the MC. Old Bella really was on the edge of an abyss (meaning she could snap at any time in a Heidy the Hippo way). Now, she just feels more like a typical self-entitled rich-bitch than a deeply traumatized individual. This is the misconception I constantly run into whenever I mention the older version of the game. ...earlier than the Elder Scrolls 6 stillDon't worry the dev is handling it. It should be handled by the year of our Lord 2092
better a stepchild than roomie or "landlord"Ah yes! Ocean's neglected stepchild. Guess It'll have to do
The locker room was ch4 I think - if I remember right, 3 ended with NIka questioning going on the date with Bella, and I think the basketball game was in 4, not 3.5, but can't remember. Maybe I just don't want 4 to only be the tabletop update in my mindTo be completely frank I don't even know what version of SG is my favorite, I started playing around ch2 I believe and was not very impressed with it. I can see from where you are coming from and I agree, I have many problems with S1 I guess that the difference is that I still see the potential to it be one incredible story. I think that Ocean really is cooking something worthy to be invested into, I see more as Ocean evolving as a writer, when he needs to hit he really does, I absolutely love the Race of Impossible Odds scene is just... great. Bella arriving at the end of 4.5. I don't think that it now is bland. But maybe not even for a fault of his own the end result is flawed to someone who had read from the beginning, too much balls in the air to jungle at once I think. I really think that Ocean can delivered.
Ayua's warning in the rework, and Nami's defence of Bella in the rework is a step up I'd say, but without Bella having a proper episode, they seem like over reactions.I certainly agree with you on Bella. Yet Bethesda have been releasing content updates faster than Ocean, so not a great comparison...earlier than the Elder Scrolls 6 still
I think you are right about missing what resonated with us. I personally feel much of this on the Nami path, and even though I like S1 more, there are moments of the early versions that I do miss. The wake-up scene in Nami's bad, the Nami talk when she asks you if like Bella, some of the Bella and MC first interactions, Mila talk on the first day of school is much better on the original. The locker room was ch4 I think - if I remember right, 3 ended with NIka questioning going on the date with Bella, and I think the basketball game was in 4, not 3.5, but can't remember. MOst of the scenes/renders that are emotional for me were from this point in production on, in any regard. Nami when you have the change of perception, Nia alone, the scene where NIka has a panic attack at the bookclub, some of these hit me really hard. We all have our favourite memories. To some extent they could have been anything - if someone changes what we remember, we lose something that effected us. I guess when something we found an emotional resonance to is missing, well, what's to resonate with? Some of the earlier stuff is less impactful to me than the sum total, but even still, we remember what had impact on us the first time in every situation in life. Incidentally, Bella does a hit and run in CH5, and no one sees that as a sign of her mental instability, everyone just seems, like, cool and normal.
OCEAN IS A TRUE GENIUS, THAT THE SIMPLE MINDED CANNOT COMPREHEND.there is nothing better than developing the prequel and sequel at the same time. Ignore future continuity problems and if anyone asks tell them it's porn logic.

You, I, Bob and half the thread, Ayua is a fandom darling but alas Ocean hates his fandom so he flaunts beautiful girls on our faces and refuses to make them LIs. Maja, Ayua, Nojiko, Mysterious Redhead. Not much that we can do, Ayua will forever be the impossible dreamMan, this scene cracks me up every time...love it!
And now, the whole scene is even better...I want to date Ayua now!

Say what? I wasn't aware that Ayua was off limits. Glad my allegiance belongs to #TeamBella...even though Ocean decided to take away this precious image from the game...You, I, Bob and half the thread, Ayua is a fandom darling but alas Ocean hates his fandom so he flaunts beautiful girls on our faces and refuses to make them LIs. You know the old saying. One who cleans the house expects visitors.Imagine if Ocean makes her sport a landing strip or something of the sort...the horror!
Oh boy, go back a few pages and you will see a full 3 pages discussion of pubic hair. Ocean did change the bush for a landing strip. It is what is is my friend.Say what? I just wish that he doesn't play any more silly tricks, like NOT putting this beautiful bush in future developments with the goddess Bella...
Imagine if Ocean makes her sport a landing strip or something of the sort...the horror!
I add the notes of a gentleman of fine tastes to it, even though this particular one is not so...gentlemanly: I seriously question a bloke who likes landing strips...You know the old saying. One who cleans the house expects visitors.
