I see a small scandal has started among the Patreons, everyone is again scolding Ocean and calling him a milker, now I understand why. It is better for Ocean not to write logs, he constantly forgets what he wrote earlier and catches himself in a lie.

He previously wrote that his rendering time was 4.5 minutes (which is too much for such a powerful system), now he wrote that the time was 13.20 including loading. This simply does not make sense. It turns out that loading a scene takes about 8 minutes? This is complete nonsense, in this time even an HDD can load a scene larger than 70 GB, and an average speed SSD m.2 can load about 1 TB in this time.
I understand that it is profitable for Ocean to delay the development of the game, but it is stupid of him to expect that all his Patreons are very stupid and do not understand anything about PCs and rendering.
from what i see ocean like a lot of devs is counting on the loyal fans to continue to support him no matter what he does. and he is counting on that if he does lose some patreons it wount be enough to ruin him. some fans do not care how long it takes for a dev to put out updates they will ride or die for them ,the hope they have in these devs is amazing it's kinda like blind faith because you don't see anything but a few previews here or there and lots of excuses, i understand loving a game but when it comes to a point where it's months after months and even a year or so without anything then at what point do you see you are being played. you have newer devs putting out updates like crazy but these older devs that have been making these AVN's for years some how can't put out a update every 3 to 6 months because of reasons that we wount get into. but at what point do you blame the devs or the supporters because they allow these devs to act like this think about it, they are funding the long production time so they have no one to blame but themselves for a year of nothing , you put up with it and say nothing we don't keep these devs accountable so it's our faught, and at the end of the day it's your money so good for you if you like to support long productions times that takes a year and several months ,for me i like to support devs that are motivated and show drive to put out content on a regular basis.;)(y)

In a perfect world where both games are finished, I doubt anyone would beat Sasha and Elsa in a poll for the most beautiful, these two meet the standards of beauty required in modeling the rest is personal preference i am a mystery cheeto enjoyer my first post in this thread was related to her
The white hair cheeto is most gorgeous character that Ocean created but alas she is not a LI.

are thy still working on this game?
Ocean is one person, and yes, he's still working on this. Next Wednesday there should be a devlog with numbers so we can get an idea of how far there is to go. The next update is supposed to be around 6000-7000 renders, so it's a very large start to the next season. As to when it happens, we'll know as it gets closer. Ocean has been doing a devlog every two weeks, so you can keep you eye on the thread - there's a link to a list of the devlogs in the OP.

It's actually insane how things changed from when I first started playing AVN's about 6 years ago. Back then most games I played were being updated every 2-5 months. It was not at all uncommon to see a new 400-500 render update every 3 months. At that time a subscription model made sense.

Today most games I play get updated maybe every 8-12 months at best. And you'd think all of them would come out with 1k+ renders at least, no? Nope! Sometimes not even with devs who do it full time. Imagine subbing for an entire year for maybe an hour of underwhelming content that doesn't even feature your favorite LI.... Fucking lunacy.

I do my part as I've always done. All devs I want to support get my money on the month of release. That's it. It encourages them to put out faster and better updates. Instead of giving them a guaranteed source of income which encourages the opposite. Nothing is safe from Enshittification, not even AVN's

100% this Nasc, I'm exactly the same in general.

To think (and fair, people can do what they like with their money) let's say a tenner a month (not a huge amount really in today's world)...and it takes 6 years to complete...

Thats seven HUNDRED and twenty notes...for a VN? Sorry...I wouldn't even pay that for a personalised, signed, gold plated copy of a the Mass Effect trilogy (and pretty sure no one else would either...it's just an insane amount of money and just shows how in reality, any dev on patreon really has zero incentive to ever finish or be in a rush. Like the old I'm not doing it for the money. So why have Patreon then hmmm? Why have tiers at stupid prices? There's a reason there's so much godamn trash released every week...people think they can make a quick buck...and that's why so many are abandoned. I often equate VN's/Devs to OF girls. A few got lucky and made big money....99% never will.

I'm also decidely against half-completed shit on Steam too....but that's another debate I guess. Early access? Heh...just go to fucking KickStarter and let's see how many people really want to see your product. But even that, agaian, is a very flawed model. Make your damn game...release it...live or die by how it's perceived. But of course, none of them will ever do that.

I routinely complain about how people drop $70 on new games instead of just waiting a bit. Then I discovered AVN land where it's suddenly okay to hand Ocean (or any other dev) $5, $10, or even more per month to get less playtime than something like Persona 5. I get that with Patreon/SS I'm not paying for a product, I'm supporting a developer, but it's still a weird disconnect.

That said, if Jennifer Hale or Tricia Helfer signed a copy of Mass Effect...I'd drop a hefty sum for it.

I'll pay for AVNs that I like when a new update is released, but I only support a very few select devs on an ongoing basis. Also I'd rather buy the game on steam if available.

If it's a dev I like, I do low support (like minimum tier) until release month and then raise my support enough to get the release. If it's Steam available and fully completed, I'll grab it. I'm hesitant to buy VNs on Steam that aren't finished because they could just be abandoned. Main exceptions so far have been BaDIK and SG. I justify those by saying at least they finished their respective seasons.

When I first got into VNs, I thought the way to go was heavy support on few devs that I liked, get into their discords, and be able to talk shop. I got disillusioned with that fast.

"The standards of beauty required in modeling" don't decide whether a girl is beautiful or not, considering how skinny some models can be to comply with those standards.

Milker? The dev who is developing two games at the same time? The dev who drops an update a year and a rework every two updates? The dev who has 2-3 sex scenes between his two games?

Why would ppl call him that?

Don't recall anyone has recently...so the point of your post (other than thinking you're far more important than you actually are and bait) is what exactly?

The white hair cheeto is most gorgeous character that Ocean created but alas she is not a LI.
Note: As of October 16, 2021, Ocean has said that the list of LIs can be expanded to more LIs but it is also possible that some LIs will be dropped, except for the eight that are listed as guaranteed. Update February 2023: as of Chapter 4.5, "less than 5" new LIs are yet to be introduced.

Man can dream her special render in the first season dlc gives me a little hope that she will join the cast and technically until she gives us her name we haven't been introduced
