Don't recall anyone has recently...so the point of your post (other than thinking you're far more important than you actually are and bait) is what exactly?
#45,059 First post i read after entering to the thread after a while

The rest of your message has 0 sense whos saying im more important than anyone?

My purpose? Would be so good if devs were consistent a focus on a thing at a time and stopped dropping an update every 18 months like most important games are having

It's actually insane how things changed from when I first started playing AVN's about 6 years ago. Back then most games I played were being updated every 2-5 months. It was not at all uncommon to see a new 400-500 render update every 3 months. At that time a subscription model made sense.

Today most games I play get updated maybe every 8-12 months at best. And you'd think all of them would come out with 1k+ renders at least, no? Nope! Sometimes not even with devs who do it full time. Imagine subbing for an entire year for maybe an hour of underwhelming content that doesn't even feature your favorite LI.... Fucking lunacy.

I do my part as I've always done. All devs I want to support get my money on the month of release. That's it. It encourages them to put out faster and better updates. Instead of giving them a guaranteed source of income which encourages the opposite. Nothing is safe from Enshittification, not even AVN's
I remember that time long ago as well. The funny thing is: SG was the first game I noticed that had an expected 12+ month development cycle between updates - well above the average. This was shortly after Ocean reworked Ch 1.

As you say, that kind of development cycle (8-12+ months) is normalized now, but back then it was rare.

Yet there still are devs with established games that offer small and consistent monthly updates. A newish dev even made the brilliant decision to render their new game at 720p and they want (and have the ability) to turn out an update every a few months.

PS - anyone remember the most clichéd goals on Patreon - AVN devs would put a monthly $$ target as a goal that, when reached, would allow them to buy this and that to speed up development. Their ultimate monthly $$ target tier had a goal that, when reached, would enable them to quit there job and work on game development full time. LOL! :)

I had three games with 3-4 months cycle in my list. Two of them are abandoned now.

I remember that one developer who asked for more money so he could move to Japan?!

If dev release whole season 2 than its awesome.

One season in one release and season should be big lots of playing time.
No it's "just" the first chapter of season 2 which is bigger than normal having the size of 2 (slighly more?) normal chapters. The dev said it would be bigger than half of season 1.

Will the steam version include season 2 updates in the future? I don't mind paying for the steam version if I get updates without paying a Patreon subscription.

I think I understand that you are asking if the rest of the seasons will be released as DLC? if so, no, each season will be a different game, and it is supposed to be a complete season only (not like patreon that you can play it chapter by chapter).

Typically "Season 2" is a DLC or completely different game on Steam. I don't think I've ever seen a Season 2 that was just an update to the base game for free.

Yeah, what I am curious about is how much of this is path specific, not all, but given some bits of information that Ocean let out some of these renders are just variations of scenes, with is fine given the nature of the media, but

No. Steam only gets you Season 1

from what i see ocean like a lot of devs is counting on the loyal fans to continue to support him no matter what he does. and he is counting on that if he does lose some patreons it wount be enough to ruin him. some fans do not care how long it takes for a dev to put out updates they will ride or die for them ,the hope they have in these devs is amazing it's kinda like blind faith because you don't see anything but a few previews here or there and lots of excuses, i understand loving a game but when it comes to a point where it's months after months and even a year or so without anything then at what point do you see you are being played. you have newer devs putting out updates like crazy but these older devs that have been making these AVN's for years some how can't put out a update every 3 to 6 months because of reasons that we wount get into. but at what point do you blame the devs or the supporters because they allow these devs to act like this think about it, they are funding the long production time so they have no one to blame but themselves for a year of nothing , you put up with it and say nothing we don't keep these devs accountable so it's our faught, and at the end of the day it's your money so good for you if you like to support long productions times that takes a year and several months ,for me i like to support devs that are motivated and show drive to put out content on a regular basis.;)(y)
I don't think that the developers are looking for loyal fans because there will be no more than 5% of them at most. The developers are interested in mass attraction of people. To do this, they use either a well-developed plot or a beautiful picture. Ocean took the 2nd path, bought/created many female characters with model appearance to please everyone. By the way, if you or any other fan takes characters from SG and makes another game with them, you will be able to collect Patreons no less than Ocean, provided that you do not use the impotence theme, it does not work.

As for me, I am no longer interested in the game as much as before, due to the fact that it stopped developing 3 years ago and is still in one place. Now I find it more interesting and fun to read logs in which Ocean uses all his imagination to come up with excuses for the incredibly long rendering.

I still remember, around 3 years ago, Auya inviting the MC to her family's martial arts studio the following Sunday for a sparring session... How time flies. Everywhere except inside the Oceanverse where it flows at a snails pace

We must be in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber. 1 day in the Oceanverse = 1 year for us inside it.

Ayua's sparring lesson and the farm party that Nika wasn't going to go to until he heard who was going and changed his mind which irked Nami.

Ducky !!!
Now i get it ! , now i get , why people such as yourself and others looks at Ocean like a master writer contender to the Literary Awards.

"In the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king"

yesterday a colleague of mine and i were having a conversation and the avns theme came so we talk it about it for an hour .
this colleague recommended me M.E.F.F(my ex future family) and M.C.R(my cute roommate) .
so i'd decided to start MEFF and not even 15 minutes in the avn and i proceeded to delete MEFF and MCR , my brain almost got an aneurysm by trying to comprehend or make sense of such an awful writings , awful story , awful characters and awful renders .

Maybe i was spoiled because my first avn was "Acting Lessons" and the writing was below average but not awful or garbage and had decent characters but "god damn!" there is a sea of putrid garbage in the avn scene.

At best, you only named half of the events. Go to the opening of a bar, join the basketball team (if I'm not mistaken, there should be a tryout), and of course card games on the farm (I hate them along with the aliens, the stupidest part of the game).... I completely forgot about joining the yoga club, where there are only girls, apparently there will be many new female characters. But that's not all, the women's basketball team is coming, which means that there will be even more female characters in the game. I assume that the list of LIs should expand greatly.

There's an element of that, I totally agree. The biggest problems with AVN's is finding a natural way to incorporate the porn logic/lewd scenes while keeping the script obeying normal logic. Most AVNs have just a series of tropes and cliches strung together as a plot. In SG currently we've met most of the characters, and we've seen Nika start walking out of his lonely room, that's about it. We're still waiting to see how much Ocean will rely on AVN cliches and how much he'll tell his own story.

The cliche things, I probably have a bunch of PTS(exual)D from some of those other low quality style AVN's that I've unfortunately opened. :coffee::sneaky:

This is why I hope for things like - no Summer returning, because it's a cheap relational drama that's common in a lot of cliche AVN stories, that's why I hope Nika isn't the lost prince, because again, it's an overused trope in AVNs.

And there are also great AVN's other than SG and WiaB that I enjoy. I don't think I"ve seen or played own that puts so much detail into what's happening in the background. Ocean cares a lot obout trying to make the world of the story bigger that what we can see. Maybe he tries too hard, but I still enjoy it.

And there are enough other great AVN's worth playing while I wait. Weeding through that sea of garbage to find them though - when I find something I hold on :ROFLMAO:
