Seriously, dude, you need to get a grip. She didn't turn on Nami, Nami turned on her out of jealousy of Nika, and Nami felt betrayed by Summer, when Summer still liked her, but loved Nika. Summer even says she doesn't hate Nami, and probably realized that Nami was jealous. Summer is a confrontational tomboy as a kid, and never fought Nami, and apparently only beat up on guys as a kid. Yeah, she was 13 in that scene, as I think it was the day before she disappeared. Some people mature earlier than others, but really, griefing on her because she likes spider fights? Get over yourself.

They weren't forcing them to fight (like, how do you force a spider to do anything?). They put two spiders together hoping they'd fight. They didn't even fight! The spiders fucked!

If this is your interpretation of what happened then we are playing different games, therefore discussion is pointless. I don't play the Steam version in the OP so maybe there's a disconnect there.

I feel like I've answered this a million times. But here it goes again. Few reasons why Summer is a disgustingly awful child:

- Befriends Nami only to basically turn on her to the point of treating her like shit.
- Her idea of entertainment is pitting 2 animals against each other and watching them fight
- Her idea of "flirting" is physical violence
- Treats her own little cousin like shit too

And all this is after Ocean softened her up quite a bit. I don't really blame her as all children are a product of their upbringing but I refuse to go easy on her either. Also this is not specific to Summer. I've been very outspoken about both of Ocean's protagonists being huge pieces of shit too.

On the Summer topic, for a while, a few years ago, I was even entertaining the idea of the MC's trauma being accidentally killing Summer trying to break up an argument between her and Nami. And then him and Nami hiding the body but the MC having forgoten the whole thing due to how traumatizing it was. That ship sailed too, sadly. I would have enjoyed Summer being actually dead dead and having no shot at appearing in the story later.

The MC's "fault" in the matter is perfectly understandable. But one thing I've always noticed is that Ocean seems to portray children in very polar opposites in both games. The MC, Summer, Leia and William are very nasty kids that contrast with how sweet people like Elsa, Bella, Mila and even Nami are portrayed. So they kinda stand out to me. People can agree or not, it's just how I see it.

That's fine but I just found the whole intro scene jarring honestly. It creeped me out. Always did, still does a little. I don't see that as normal child behavior. Whatever Ocean tried to portray there it missed the mark with me. I lean towards future psycopaths more than well adjusted young adults. I think that scene is partly a remnant of a game that doesn't exist anymore but was kept because "fuck it".

That's mostly because the WIAB kids grew up with Dylan forcing brutal competitions between them, and trying to toughen them up for their future life of crime. It wasn't helped (in the original story) by all the hidden incest and sibling rivalry between Leia and Katie. At a guess, I don't think Leia was a total cunt (to anyone except Katie and Monica) until after Will abandoned her when they were 16 (and without explaining or contacting her in any way for years). It definitely made more sense with them being incestuous twins than it does now...

From SG I'm neutral about most characters. I strongly dislike Summer, Nia and Zara. Then comes the tier with the Cyrill bitches, Kate, Miriam etc... After that comes the characters that are slowly being "fixed" like Marla and Amber.
