The game gets about 1 chapter a year and 30 are planned, do you really believe someone could work on a VN for another 26+ years?
All I, and really anyone else can say... is that he managed to release 2 updates this year. That's a huge improvement from what it was previously. Before this update, it took an entire year to release something. I feel like if he were to put WIAB on hold, he'd be far more efficient, but sadly... that's one hill he's willing to die on. So what can we really do about it? My view is that if he'd focused on SG, we would have gotten updates every 4 months(at most), or every 2.5 months(at least). This is when you look at how much time he actually spends developing each update(he alternates between SG and WIAB). SG probably would've been more popular and more profitable, he'd have had more patrons(because of how he seemingly delivers on his projects), etc. I'd hate to see this game take a negative turn at any point in the future... but in order to move forward, some sacrifices have to be made.
he likes to rework stuff too, his project are too ambitious man. I love his work but its just doesn't feel realistic for him to finish any project at this rate
Had the same thoughts. I think the best solution to this would be to release parts in smaller packages. Like every 5 episodes = a part or something. It's 10 episodes right now(because 10 episodes = 1 season), but unless the episodes start coming out faster, I think he should make the parts smaller. I mean he can always change things later on, but this is just my personal view on thatღ

Edit: I think he's already doing the part thing with Steam. So that's a plusღ

Exactly in 5 years from now this is going to be outdated visually and he's going to wanna update it all again and the cycle continues, same for his other game.
I'm not convinced about that, the visuals seem to be at the limit right now, very few games come close to it. If you look at the majority of games on here their visuals are still at the level (or lower) than the chapters Ocean is reworking. I'd say there's only 3 or 4 devs who could achieve the level of Ocean's visuals and as they're (understandably due to quality level) pretty slow with the updates I don't think even they will surpass Ocean enough for another rework.

Or, he reduces the amount of animations he uses. I get that some are used as set pieces to try to add depth, but some of them aren't really necessary to the overall story itself. Did you really need the animation after the MC was hangcuffed to the wall for example? From what I remember, one of the animations was keyed to the rhythm of a certain song that he later had to remove because they revoked consent. That's a hell of a lot of work put in. I believe he's also removing the Nami punch and Sai punch scenes again citing copyright problems.

Agh, what do I know :D

Visuals will improve but not by much as there not much room, unless we're going into the uncanny valley which would probably look very off.

I feel like the biggest change will be that there'll be more and more (and longer) animations. VNs will eventually become an animated version of Life Selector

when is the next update
I swear to God, these guys will never stop with their questions about release date :HideThePain:
You know that you can spend ~5 minutes by reading previous pages and try to find the answers for your questions?
I'll save your time, relax. The release is very soon, WIAB is in postwork and testing stage. After that, Summer's Gone will be released as well, presumably end of October.
At least I hope so, I really want to watch how Ocean will ban that poor guy (forgot his name, I'm sorry). :KEK:

I can understand and totaly agree with the desire for more frequent updates, but why do you guys want this show to end? Everybody blaming the developer for his "unrealistic" plan of 30 episodes and thus not being able to complete the game in a reasonable amount of time, but to me that means he has a lot in store to keep us entertained for a long time to come.
Let's say, the Acting Lessons and Leap of Faith are great games but they've already been completed. Would you play it again after you completed all the routes and know that there will be no further development of the plot? Didn't you feel that their ending was a bit artificial, so many story arcs were just cut off, so many characters were left undeveloped.
For me the SG is an ongoing show I like to watch occasionly.
Ya I'm glad this game is going to be longer, hopefully a more detailed, deeper story to go along with better romantic relationships. Nothing wrong with shorter games, but I personally like the longer more detailed ones with more romance buildup, etc. instead of just instant sex as we see in so many games.

Yes it stops and will be/is already reworked, just because some certain thin skinned, always offended feeling snowflakes on steam or here, could feel butthurt about a random ridiculous excuse.
It has nothing to do with being offended, it comes off as amateurish, like a tryhard edgy 14yo wroth it. Luckily even Ocean seems to agree, since he apparently is taking writing classes and is reworking stuff.

Oh okay. Yeah I can see why you're concerned about it. But I gonna list you some points here:

- So far, Ocean has been constant. And this while working on 2 games (I personally don't understand it cause I'd work on just one, but that's part of his creative process and I respect it). He updates regularly and has communication with others, I doubt he would drop it and disappear. If anything, he has devoted himself to Summer's Gone (And fans of Where it all Began complain that he loves and dedicates more time to SG than WiAB).

- There are other games on the site that have not gone through a remaster, and they have been more than 3 years without having significant advances on dialogue and choices. On the other hand, Ocean is remastering 2 games. For SG I personally didn't get it, but it's veeeeery evident in WiAB, and I can tell the remaster looks waaaaay better, and the tweaks in the sotry and characters are better.

- I think it's worth the wait, since Ocean's renders are not visually stunning, they have animations, cinematic, good music. If you're looking for a quick game to jerk off it's fine, but since the beginning Ocean stated that this is gonna be slow burn and focus on character's stories, good dialogue and careful detailed scenarios.

- Latest updates took longer cause, just like it happened to DPC (Being a DIK) they had to change their whole soundtracks cause suddenly some artists weren't okay with their work being on adult VNs.

Ocean is a perfectionist, which can be a double edged sword, but again, so far he has delivered. Ever since the 2 games remasters I haven't play any of them in which I felt he could have done better.

Making calculations about when he's gonna finish the story is useless, in my opinion. He could end up delivering shorter chapters, or backtracking and releasing less of them. I used to think Leap of Faith was going to take a while and it was completed already, so I dunno, I'll just wait and see. So far he hasn't given me the feeling he's going to abandon it, only that he's a perfectionist.
