There is a TON, and i mean a TON of incest going on in the world without even including the middle-eastern. People tend to forget but there is rural areas where social stigma doesn't mean shit, but what's important is cultural town tradition. Also, people are not retarded and know about how incest is viewed by society and they are not going to announce they are siblings. One of them just quietly changes their name and moves away to a new place without people knowing them.
I mean... what do you expect to happen if people spend a lot of time together since young to adulthood, without including broken homes and/or parents where they have to rely on themselves. One last thing, the problem with incest is inter-generational incest, where the % of acquiring bad genes is high.
Just to clarify, I'm not advocating incest but just telling you that it happens a lot.
Did I at any point say it didn't? Hmmm? Did I? Please quote where I did .

Neither do I need educating on the biology (and hysteria and misconceptions) of inter-related births either, It generally takes generations for defects to start becoming apparent and likely. Two people with no previous familial relationships in past generations are as likely to have a defected child as any other couple. ;)

Now, is there anything else you feel you would like to try and educate me on?

Fuck me, most Murican's have an issue if someone is more than 6 fucking months older than their partner lol...let alone 2 'effective siblings' who have grown up together.
This remind me to an actual polemic in my country, the mayor of my city has celebrated his wedding some days ago,his wife is 27 years old and he is around 47, plenty difference between them but...Why people get mad about this? I mean, they are mature people now, 27 years is absolutely an age where you know what to do with your life, well, people are upset about this in my city .

Because generally speaking, people are fucking stupid and worry about shit that 1. is not worth worrying about and 2. Love to interfere in other people's business.

I swear Don, if peoppe spoent as much time as they do concerning themselves with other people and expanding energy on pointless shit, actually on themselves, they'd have far fewer problems in life.

I'll say it again. He aways (up to this year) admitted the other story was an incest story. He always denied this one was. Makes no sense to deny it if he perfectly happy to admit the other one was.

Just take the stick outta ya ass and accept the truth. As for the where/why/wherefore, Olivia above sums it up perfectly. it's still not acceptable by modern societal standards (for the majorty of people) because they grew up together as siblings. The fact they are not is irreleveant. Just like it would still cause a societal scandal if I started screwing my 21yo step-niece.
Ocean has denied on many occasions that WIAB has incest, all after the first witch hunt on Patreon. Before, yes, he admitted the situation, or at least once put it in writing. After that moment he stopped saying "cheerfully" and has even deleted comments on discord regarding the subject. Ocean's entrance to the scene in SG was after the first purge started, obviously he was not going to say that this had incest, but if you see logs that are no longer in patreon (those of regium) he says that Nami is the sister (well, actually the phrase is "when you have a hot sister" as a colorary of a photo of Nami).
However, this discussion no longer makes sense, it is what it is.

The patch is unofficial, and goes against the terms of Ocean's EULA for steam at least.

The official version is ambiguity.

A couple of things. The patch doesn't change a single render, only text. The visual context is the same. That means that as shipped officially, the game has a complete set of renders, none of which are revealed by a patch. Ocean has shipped a complete game. An evil modder has exploited the ambiguity of Noji fostering them, and the ambiguity of both Nika and Nami's parents dying in similar circumstances. Nika as the narrative point doesn't explain much of his childhood and there are severe flaws in his recollection. The rest is up to your personal desire to live with ambiguity, or force it to fit something based on your preferences.

THere is no official support for patches from unknown sources. :coffee::whistle:
It’s all just confusing as fuck honestly now that I’m delving into this.
Back in the day all I wanted was a wank, only to find myself in front of this.

I didn’t even fucking read the disclaimer the first time I started the game cause it was just that to me, yet another annoying disclaimer.
All I wanted was to jump straight into it, couldn't imagine the game wouldn't have sex for ages and still hasn't. Go figures!

That’s when I discovered that these games don’t need sex at all if they have a good story for me to enjoy them.
I liked this story in particular and everything made sense without the patch (mostly, ZPR’s basketball athletic program is just pure fiction lol).
Only to read the comments a few days back and find out that there’s an incest patch that many people consider the right way to play the game and whatnot cause there are patreon laws to circumvent. It made me seriously question if my way is the right way.

I am going to correct you, the patch does not appear a few days later... it appears just with the release of the update.

For real, play it like you want, with patch or without patch all fits good. I play with the path mostly because i like incest, but i find too more realistic they being real siblings.
One of the things i´m excited is the moment when people discover about Nika and Nami relationship, considering that incest is a Taboo topic... maybe the npc´s move away from us...

Anyway if Ocean is making the game without the patch is because that´s how the game is designed to be played, even if this is a decision only for evite Patreon ban and that stuff. But play it how you want it!! Don´t let people tell you how to play.

Now that I see you mentioning the EULA again, There was something that I wanted to ad in my last post about the EULA stuff to you:

I think you attach too much importance to this modding stuff.

You should know, that the EULA, visible on steam, comes not from Ocean himself, but from Valve and Ocean has to put it in place. I think the prohibition of modding the game files comes from the multiplayer background steam has - in short: cheating. Cheating is nothing more than tinkering/modification/messing up of game files.

Or like in the last update, 8 hours before the official release on patreon, and no beta testers involved to tinker a patch together ready for release ...

I think Bob uses the catchphrase as a joke, as I do when I answer to those who ask and are new if the patch is necessary.... "the game according to its creator is made to be played as is without the need for any patch that violates patreon's ToS".

welp, this was interesting while it lasted

I couldn't even get past the main menu
mouse clicks on anything do not work, the mouse drags the screen, as if it were a mobile device, instead

unfortunately, I'm not intimately familiar with renpy, evidently, to fix it myself

renpy.variant("touch")
returns False

Have you read the EULA? It's a third party EULA, which means it's not steam's. It's clearly written for Ocean's terms, especially the fan art section. You already have agreed to steam's EULA by using the store. Some games require agreements with the developer as well as with steam, this is one of them.

I can't imagine steam actually care about the terms of fan art, or about the fair use of any suggestions, such as is covered in the document. I also have maybe two or three games which require a third party license - most just accept the generalised one you've agreed to by playing on steam.

I think Bob uses the catchphrase as a joke, as I do when I answer to those who ask and are new if the patch is necessary.... "the game according to its creator is made to be played as is without the need for any patch that violates patreon's ToS".
I know I'm being pedantic, but go to SG's steam page and read it. Very few store pages have one.
