either ocean start doing smaller releases or appointing a supporter dev to increase production. He knows this, he just doesn't care.
I would add that he's also probably hesistant after the crap that went down with the original Summers Gone dev. The one who was making it based off of Ocean's notes. Bad experience leading him to not want to work with someone again.

Ah yes - another post by a 'one hit wonder' ...

Didn't you just delete a post - the first in almost a year of having 'that' user id?

Maybe it was a mod who did the delete...

Anyway - Adults choose how to spend their money.

I'm happy to be a $ supporter of Ocean and I feel like I have gotten more value from SG than from most of the AAA games I buy.

There will always be people who want to tell other adults how to spend their money.

I only Have to listen to the ones working for my government... ;)

I'm looking forward to decades of AVN story time with SG and WIAB.

This includes an enjoyable story, some beautiful renders, animations and great music.

If I get to enjoy other Ocean creations after these - I will.

When I die, what follows after that won't matter to me...

Cheers!! :coffee:
I understand what you are trying to say, enjoying life without an attachment. But don't you wish that you could have a completed version of SG in your hand right now, I certainly do. Apart from that, it is ocean's duty as a developer to fulfil his supporters wish. I have never another community like this, the fans never ask for anything else. No special fetishes, charector change, etc they may say here and there but they whole heartedly enjoy what ocean make. The only thing they demand of ocean as a whole is to release sooner, and I think it's his duty to fulfil that. Ofcourse he is a talented creator with a beautiful story, wonderful characters, etc. He should get his recognition, but it was is who recognized his talent and supported him. Don't make him forget that (like the youtube creators).

My friend, you must have loved someone in your life or had a friend, but for some reason it didn't work out. Are you going to spend your life a loner. I wouldn't, understand those are circumstances a move on. Ocean is doing this either he may have trust issue like you mentioned or thinks only he can do it as a narcissist.

So. If you had read my post more slowly, you would have noticed I started it with "I would add". I'm agreeing with your post and adding a possible additional reason, my dude.

I know its hard to think straight when you're on a hate boner, but chill out.

[...] appointing a supporter dev to increase production. [...]
You may not know, but SG was originally developed by such a supporter dev, Regium, to whom Ocean handed over his plot (as far as I understand, it was pretty rough and sketchy at the time). And Ocean himself worked exclusively on WiAB (though, rumors say, he was already dabbling in developing a second game with FMC in the background :Kappa:).
It didn't work, as already on the 2nd chapter of SG, Ocean first had to help him with creating renders (and in the end, almost completely redo all the graphics for chapter 2) and then Regium get away from SG development and Ocean was left with two games and two fan bases, some of which can't stand the other game.

There have also been some negative attempts to outsource some of the work. But there is also a positive part, for example, now he has a guy who helps him with coding and UI.

Also he explained why he wouldn't hire someone to help him with the art in this log
obviously in the section "Why don't you just hire someone to help you with the art?" :

To take one whole year for just 1 chapter to get relased is diabolical, if it was a whole season I get it.
I heard about a developer who spent ~14 months on the latest update to his AVN. The guy made a few million by the most conservative estimates.

What's with the uptick in criticism in this and WiaB threads in the last week? Doesn't feel organic, feels more like a brigade.

We know that WiaB is in testing and SG is sitting at 7000+ renders and a number of animations, developed roughly the same duration (12-16 months) as other big titles is coming in the next few months. Yet people are pitching a fit that it's not coming at a pace they deem acceptable.

Chill the fuck out.

Ocean's threads have always been like this. They seem to attract the most special people in the entire zone. In the WiAB thread on the day of Chapter 3's release, a couple of hours before the release, they were still convincing each other that he couldn't do it and would postpone the release until next year. They got on the mods' nerves so much that they even made a separate off-topic thread for them to whine about. But they weren't interested - there wasn't enough audience in the off-topic thread to watch their shit show.

I don't think there IS an acceptable pace for gooners. Goon hard, goon fast, goon always.

There's always been the odd comment here and there, but the dooming has been another level recently.

I honestly think it's BD's fault, so many delays to WVM spiralled that thread to the point people can't even be bothered shitting on him anymore. Seems like that shit hit the fan and every thread is getting spattered.

Yes, there is always a lot of drama around basketball AVNs. :KEK:

Writing? What writing? LMAO. The game’s still stuck in the first week of college after six years of development — and somehow only Bella got any actual character development.
i've been saying that everybody should chip in so we can buy writing 101 for dummies and send it to Ocean as a gift .
maybe his barely existing writing skills could get a bit better.

Maybe it's got to do with that 12-16 month period between the updates you mentioned? He might be making the same or even more renders daily than other prolific devs out there, but not having regular updates sours the mood for many, including me. He might be putting in the work, but it doesn't show. We basically went from three updates per year to two and now not even one. And I hear you, the content will be big when it eventually comes out, but it's still not the same.

There is also the fact that both fanbases know very well that neither of these games is ever going to be finished with the current pace and the 30 chapter plan, so there's an underlying negativity that follows both games.

12-16 month period
And where is the benefit, get 2 updates per year for 3.5k renderers, or get 1 update for 7k renderers, hmm:unsure:
+ WIAB 4.5-5K renderers, I can't name anyone with the same performance.

Well, I'm sure that it will switch to 3.5k renderers in half a year, after the release, this is a rule of good taste.
