I can't even bring myself to care anymore. It will come out sometime in the future, I'll probably won't even play it in the first few months after release and pick it up on steam sale. At some point of development time it simply stops being relevant or engaging.

I think the most likely scenario is that he never changes his approach and the game will never be completed due to burnout, finance or any other reason to drop the game. There's no way he can complete the game as defined within at least 15 years at this pace, and a lot can happen in that time, and there is no reason to believe the scope will reduce or his productivity will significantly increase. The guy is already killing himself working on this game, that's not the reason it's taking such a long time. The project is just way too big for him and he rejects every trade-off to steer the project back on track: putting WIAB on hold, hiring a second artist, lowering the scope of the game, lowering the quality of the game... If AI (in the future) could help him deliver 10 times faster, he would probably turn it down. Delivery is not a primary concern to him, quality and faithfulness to his vision are. But that's why in videogame companies for better or worse it's not the writers/artists who make the project decisions.

Anyway, I keep hoping he sees the light while it's still time. He has many options to choose from, but status quo isn't a solution. The first release was already 6 years ago and we are not even at 20% completion yet.

So, in the past 10 days the PC averaged about 22-25 renders a day. Even though I create more, it’s the usual story of loading 20+ characters.

Sadly, my 4090 on the other PC can’t handle some of the scenes and just stops all together.

One day went bye-bye due to a region wide power outage during the night and well…

…this puts us at around 6980 renders… Let’s just say 7000 still renders.

Muuusic and cinematics
I recently acquired a license for another cinematic that will be in this Chapter. Great song, great cinematic.

I’m going to buy two more songs and then I will stop buying music licenses for about a year or two.

Due to what’s happening in the NSFW world, I must make sure that no matter what happens, I find a way to keep paying my leasing rates for the Workstation + GPUs, as well as the electricity bill. (All together about 2000€/month).

The good thing is that I already have about 15 cinematics for Season 2. (The songs are all licensed and paid for.)

Upgrade
After 5 years I retired my 49” monitor and got myself a new Samsung 49” OLED. I tried to get as close to my old color settings as possible, but it can’t look the same.

Due to the strong blacks of the OLED display, the renders naturally looked more contrasty.

Means, the renders for you might look a little brighter now in comparison to my old ones. Maybe? Maybe they'll look the same.

Preppy
Preparation of the environments and characters is almost done.

One good thing that comes from this update is that I will have done so many environments and places that ALL future updates will benefit from it.

The number of new environments must rival the entire Season 1.

The good thing is all of them will be used again and again throughout the seasons.

Languages for Season 1
I finished a new language selection screen and SG Season 1 will get a lot of new languages soon.

I will soon do the USK Rating in Germany, then SG S1 can be sold in Germany on Steam but the cheapest option is still 1800€… Aaahhh… I must do it, though.

While it might have been a dumb idea to make an update the size of four updates, I now can’t imagine a better way to finally put the rework era to rest.

Yes you can!!! If you just pretend I'm sure you can.

Pretend the last update, that came out 14 months ago, wasn't just a small rework that added nothing new to the story.

Pretend the next update isn't in half a year.

Pretend that, when the next update drops, you didn't go 2 years without an update but instead had 4 updates in that time.

If you pretend hard enough, I know you can find it in you to still care a little bit ;)

By the way, can anyone here pretend that they don't care about the game enough to not have to write a post about how you don't care about the game after every devlog or news update? I'm asking for a friend.
