Another notable feature of Ocean is that he releases updates sooner or later. Over the five years of WiAB and SG's existence, many games that launched around the same time and were warmly welcomed by the public and had high expectations and promises were abandoned. SG and WiAB are still here.
That's why i still believe in him. YES the updates take a lot of time, but he always backed it up with incredible renders, story and animations.
I admit i was sceptical about the WIAB remake, but visually it's a better game now, can't say for sure cuz i stopped at 0.3 cuz to many games in my backlog.
Even i'm a sucker when it comes to Kat,lol.

Funfact : yesterday i saw a license plate from a german car "WI : AB **19"

From April to December last year (9 months), Ocean made 1800 renders for SG. At this rate of work, it will be "late" rather than "early". Well, as for the rest, I completely agree with you.

Could you please tell me what this amazing story is?
Because so far, what I’ve seen is: an emo boy goes to university where every girl is a bombshell and, of course, they all instantly fall for him. Meanwhile, he’s struggling with trauma, goes to therapy, but somehow is also extremely gifted in sports. Even the characters are classic AVN archetypes: the tomboy sister, the rude blonde, the sports freak, the poor girl who needs saving, the caring stepmom… It’s not terrible, but honestly we’ve all seen this play out a hundred times before.

What really carries the game are the visuals. The renders have always been top-notch, no question there. But let’s be real—in six years of development since 2019, only about two weeks of in-game time have passed, and the introduction is still the only part that’s actually finished
So where is the "he always backed it up with story" part? - The most generic AVN story and it barely moved in 6 years, maybe im too blind to see it.

Lets not even bring up things like when he wasted months of development time on a DND board game...

Minus the part where Emo Boy hasn't still fucked a single one of them because he still can't get a boner :HideThePain:

Ofcourse we've seen those tropes everywhere, thats the common trope of story telling,no?
Annoying tsundere girls from manhwa's/manga's etc. ,giga chads like Mc who's talented as fuck etc. ,why should i pinpoint the flaws?
All you said is the norm of story telling,so we shouldn't watch blockbuster movies cuz the story was told in other movies before?

I never said he should’ve avoided every possible cliché or that he had to come up with something entirely unique. Defending your point doesn’t mean putting words in my mouth. What I asked was: when exactly did he ‘back it up with story’ that you’re so in awe of? Because from what I see, aside from the generic tropes there isn’t much else yet — we just finished the introduction. Two weeks of clichés stretched over six years of development doesn’t exactly sound like amazing storytelling to me. Sorry the unique part is when he made the MC impotent unless he thinks of his childhood friend that he last saw when they were kids.

Before you try to insult me,i never tried "Defending your point doesn’t mean putting words in my mouth." nor was it my intention.
Showing a lil bit of myself in an anonymous forum, the way he pictured Nika is something i respect, cuz reasons.
You are right, six years of development and this is all we got isn't satisfactory,no reason to suggar coat it.

The idea is awesome and it brings all kinds of interesting possibilities. It's sad that the implementation so far sucks absolute ass but let's not discard the DND stuff just yet.

Lol,you are so clever?
It's a skill issue on your side if you need to blame his work.you don't like his AVN,fine.
Why don't you just skip the bullshit and tell us your real reason for disliking this AVN?

I agree with all sides, the story really is quite cliché, and what stands out are the visuals. But let’s be honest, the dev deserves credit no matter what. After all, this community has kept the topic alive all this time, full of theories about the plot. Just for that alone, I think he deserves some recognition.

The plot is cliche but is very engaging and Ocean has a unique talent for writing characters

DUUUUUUDEEEE!!! You can't just come out of nowhere with bangers like that. Because of you, I choked on my tea and almost coughed my lungs out! But it was a good one. I give you that.
I mean you don't need to like the man or is work, I have many complain about both AVNs, but to negate his quality is just silly. For all his fault Ocean has a unique talent to writing character that plus is quality as a visual artist allowing him to give life to this character is the reason that SG and WiaB has such a fanbase. The plot has just enough mystery to keep one going but in true is nothing that is really breaking the mold, it is very cliche in some places and all the reworks really did not did either story any favors.

EDIT: Gramatical errros

I don't. I bought both of his game on Steam and I did it out of complete conviction. However, I'm not blind to the facts. The stories are both (so far) mediocre at best, and the characters are not well developed. The characters' appearance in particular is, well, boring. Just look at the women in the games. With breasts and butts of those dimensions, real women would have extreme back problems. They only look “normal” in the game because Ocean is a damn good graphic designer and manages to make unnatural things appear normal. Or look at William in WiaB. Such an ugly, pumped-up steroid boy instantly makes 95% of women as dry as the Sahara. ...and come on, cats with laser eyes? All that “Bibi” bullshit. Ocean makes great graphics, and that's why I play his stuff. He knows how to pose and render beautiful images. But let's stop pretending it's more than that, because it's not.

Well I can agree that the story is nothing out of the extraordinary but I can't agree with the rest. The characters are all very well developed for the time they got, even one as Sasha who has less time on the screen is well developed, same goes for all the LIs and even some of the thirdary character as Bimbo. Ocean has both talents as a writter and a artist that sometimes with just one render he can developed some paths - Nami in Ch5- and with just a few give you a whole new perpective on a character -Nia Ch5. I just don't see the point about the bodies shapes, with all honesty, is not like people like Mila don't exist, really see Mila in Ch5 and say that is a Impossible body, it ain't. He has some trully awful render though - Vic tits in Ch4.5- and is very inconsistent in how he presents the characters but they are not impossible body sizes. Fot the cat I really can't see your point, I would not even call it imerssion breaking is just a joke. William body is a character point, have you played Ch4 yet ? As for the Bibi I also don't get the hate, is a made up work used in contextl, it is supposed to be a bit cringe.

Yeah, I really surprised how he managed to make his characters so vibrant and alive. I haven't seen anything like it in probably half a hunderd college setting games that I could endure more than a couple of minutes after start. And the characters truly have completely different personalities, which are evident in literally everything: their manner of speech, their gestures, their emotions.

You don't even need to look at the preview from the previous dev log to easily identify that the picture where one of the characters is hugging a stranger girl's shoulder with a mischievous and slightly retarded grin is Nami. And the frowning, tense girl, glaring at someone in the distance - that's Sasha. Absolute cinema.
